The Quote That Sums Up The Last 14 Years

“I hope that the irony will not be lost upon you that I stand here, on my evening of defeat, in a hall – this magnificent sports complex – which I helped to build.”

John O’Donoghue, after losing his seat in Kerry South

    • He means he was the massive intellect behind its construction (note it’s called a complex) He didn’t actually build it – lesser people did – durrrr!

  1. Magnanimous in defeat? Nope.

    Gracious? Nope.

Expect to see him in a Senate near you, any day now. With the Ivor Callely book under his arm; “Fundamentals of Seanad Expenses.”

  2. I hope the ‘Bull’ O’Donoghue got a dig-out from the Irish taxpayers and the National Lottery to build that sports complex. I’d hate to see him out-of -pocket on our account!

  3. Just shows what petty bourgeoisie looks like. Bull supports FF for a few baubles and his expenses cheque. Country falling apart, massive job losses and he focuses on a sports complex. Like Pharoah and his pyramid… can we now seal him in with his minions?

  4. he also said in an interview to radio kerry – “i’d rather have been a cock for a day, than a chicken for a week”!!

eh right John, thanks for that!!!

  5. In my earlier comment I forgot to add “Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha you expenses fiddling c**t!”

  6. Just proof that TDs behave like county councillors instead of acting in the interest of their country.

Small minded sweaty palmed whiskey monster.

  7. I’m sure the 200K+ handout and the 100K+ pension will soften the blow you gombeen bastard. If only there was a way to take it from you. You’re the worst scum this country has ever thrown up. Your arrogance is breathtaking. Well I’m glad to see that the people of Kerry saw through your sham. You had a great time on our money. I’m sure a big arrogant lump like you will still lord it about Caherciveen thinking you are the master. Well you are not. A friend of mine who lives in your constituency told me you were always stinking of whiskey. Drink on you sot. Good riddance.

  8. Ungrateful plebs. Should have held the election during X-Factor season when none of you would have noticed. Though at the same time, I’m sure the people of South Kerry have seen fit to replace you with a man of even greater virtue

  9. Yes your party spent like there was no 2morro & no Lotto grants for new sports projects since 2008

  10. I couldn’t have a man in power who has a complex, it’s just not right!

  11. “Let him eat cake” springs to mind; but then he will still have his cake and eat it too! But at least we know the Bulls tail is between his legs and the cows of Kerry are safe as there’s not a sperm left in his spunk!

  12. Believe it or not, I can’t believe how he lost against the other tripe we had as choices in Sth. Kerry! He took the ride in expenses alright but he gave more to schools than JHR. We now have 1xFG and 2xFF elected who will destroy any chance of progress. I hear all 3 are publicans, is this true?? Might bring down the price of the pint here!
I like the quote at the bottom of this article (http://www.kerryman.ie/local-notes/dermot-finn-2543231.html) from Dermot Finn “For example here in South Kerry we always had two Fianna Fail putting themselves for election but this year we have one Fianna Fail candidate and two independent Fainna Fail candidates and that is the strategy Fianna Fail have adopted to the whole country. In Kerry we call it cute-hure politics.” He got my vote for being honest!

  13. “You filthy little ingrates.”

That’s basically what Earl Donoghue was saying there.

Same sort of passive aggressive bullshit from Little Lord Lenihan over in Dublin south-west who, as he conceded defeat, graciously laid the blame squarely on the ‘little people’, saying the voters in his constituency overlooked all the work he had done on the ground – as they were focused only on the national issues…

    Gobshite. And good riddance.
