“Are You My ‘City Of A Thousand Welcomes’ Ambassador?”

Taken within the last hour on O’Connell Street, Dublin.

Tourist Bill Rowland meets Animal Rights Action Network (ARAN) activist Helena Reishin Holmes.

Helen is covered in red bodypaint to protest against baby seal hunting in Canada.

Bill is wearing a multi-coloured cap because he is now retired and doesn’t give a damn what people think.

Is she one of those new Dublin City Visitor Ambassadors I’ve been reading about? Or was she drinking down North Earl street way before the picture was taken?

Say no to fur! Especially if you live in a hardwater area like I do.

Is it worth pointing out that a lack of ice this year reduced the seal hunt to 1% of it’s usual take. In which case global warming is the seal protestors friend so they should start buying big humvees :-)
