SOPA/PIPA is not simply a US matter. The outcome of the bills could yet influence other countries, including Ireland to introduce similar forms of censorship. The music industry is threatening the government with legal action
to re-introduce the 3 strike rule for Eircom and everyone else. Also,
the US have already bullied the Spanish into passing a similar law.

So, in the words of Peter Cook: “We need a futile gesture at this stage. It will raise the whole tone of the war.”

Back tomorrow,

Nat, Niall, Karl, John, Sue, Emily, Chompsky, Bodger, Ewok and all at Broadsheet.

Congratulations on a protest well done. I have to admit I did get withdrawals during lunch for some broadsheet info but I managed to get through it. :)
