  1. Why not, if everyone else is going to stand by and watch an utter c#nt like Assad massacre his own people?

  2. Any assortment of socialist party activists, shinners and faintly dim ex rugby players putting a freedom flotilla together for the besieged people of Homs?

    • Why? Does Syria masquerade around the world like a European democratic state like Israel? Does it play in the European soccer finals, sing in the Eurovsion song contest?

      • Oh I see, if you’re upfront about being a c#ntish dictatorship you have carte Blanche to do what you like.

        Well that’s alright then.

      • Bless!

How horrible it must be to have your morals so far up your ass you actually find yourself on the side of someone like Assad!

What the f#ck do you expect? That the people and army deserters supporting them march the streets with flowers in their hair?

      • Actually I think this lady makes a good point:

        Lizzie Phelan:

“Grasping a complex reality does not depend on the amount of information accumulated in favor of any one side, but on the diversity of informed poins of view reflecting a given situation. As long as the political and economic conditions of such a multiplicity of views are not met, tomorrow, as yesterday, the first casualty of war will always be truth.”

This is what she says about Lybia:

“My colleague Dan Glazebrook did an interview on Russia Today last week following the decision by Doctors Without Borders to stop their work in Libya in despair at the appalling torture against tens of thousands of pro-Gaddafi Libyans by those rebels who have been cheered on for the past year by the western media. He reminded the public that according to HRW reports from the past 5 years, there were three possible cases of deaths in custody in Libya over 5 years, which is really exemplary, but in Britain there were 4 cases last month alone.”

        • Your Libyan hobby horse again, eh Zuppy?

The mistreatment of any prisoner, anywhere, by anyone is a disgrace.

But your insistence on trying to paint the Gaddafi regime as some kind of benign dictatorship, good for its people, is a sick joke – and a joke you’re telling simply because it was the ‘west’ that opposed him.

Now you’ve moved on from denying anything at all was happening in Syria to a similar defence of another absolute cu#t in Assad, and for the same reasons.

Again it’s a sick joke, being told by one of the most blatant tin-hat wearing loons I’ve come across on an Irish website… (although I avoid boards.ie and politics.ie like the clap)

“Form your opinion first, then find anything and everything that might support your view and dismiss all the weight of evidence that opposes your view as a vast conspiracy.” Handbook for loons, Chapter 1, Page 1, learned by heart by one Zuppy International.

          • Just for you Orieldude, here’s another quote form Lizzie Phelan”

“Factually speaking Libya was a paradise for human rights and Muammar Gaddafi was due to receive a human rights award prior to the NATO onslaught. And of course Libya had the highest standard of living in Africa and much of the region, including a much higher standard of living than Saudi Arabia which hardly ever is in the spotlight in the mainstream western press.”

Have you got any actual evidence to refute this opinion or just more bland and lazy insults?

          • Oh well if Lizzie Phelan says it then it must be true. Sure she’s Lizzie Phelan isn’t she, and the things she says suit you.

Human rights award from who? What a sick joke.

Saudi Arabia is never in the western press? Hahahahahahahaha

Being a tinfoil hat wearing loon at least allows you to sleep at night I’d imagine Zuppy. Personally I’d be in a lot of pain if my moral compass was so far up my hole.

  3. I think Russia sells a lot of ‘stuff’ (as in.. armaments) to Syria, hence the reluctance to take any action that might cause a good customer to vanish..

    • Ahem.. is there even a whimper of a protest outside Russian Embassy? FFS
Is Anti-War movement deaf to anything that isn’t directly or tangentially US/UK related?!
Maybe they’re just c*~|s – if I bump into Richard Boyd Barrett in Dalkey I’ll mention that to him.
