No ‘he-man’ she.
Sibling of Daedalus writes:
From Birr, Co Offaly. Educated at Alexandra College, Dublin, where she learned to drive a car at the age of 12 before “graduating” to motorcycles. She subsequently became fascist (as nice gels in the 1930s tended to do) and was interned in Britain. Probably why she doesn’t merit a mention on the Alex website.
She said she would get married when she met a man who was more of a challenge than a motorbike.
It did not happen.

I guess you could say she was “Goering” around the bend.
Ok, who’s next?
Torn between her third bike and the Third Reich.
Wonder what her favourite race was, Isle of Man or Aryan.
E(i)ther.
She ran out of gas on all the other races.
I want some of those “Casket” cigarettes.
I want those boots.
What’s up with the left foot / toe? Is it something for kickstarting the bike. I would have thought the kicker would be on the right tho…. I dunno, just askin’
She has speedway boots on. You can see that modern riders still have special boots, which are reinforced on the left:

btw, Speedway was invented in Australia.
Reinforced on the left…is that why she swung to the right?
Cheers Formerly!
G’wan outta dat Hoop :)
think i got with her in Wezz…
Probably more ‘Parsonstown’ than Birr I’d say.
“Rides a Douglas or a Rudge” ? – I don’t think I’ve ever come across a Rudge.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudge-Whitworth , I’d suspect.
She retired in her 50s! ..and died in the early 1980s.

I think I have a (leather) crush, even with all the goose stepping malarkey.
Fuhrer Schmutz
And a Dirt Track Rider according to the card.
Huge feet!
The dad of one of my Aussie mates used to race speedway. As soon as I began to ask him if he knew Fay, he said her surname and talked about her. So, she got around.
Fast lady, alright.
