Of its new minimalist footwear, launching spring 2013 for £110, per pair, Nikeblog sez:
The Nike Studio Wrap is a three-part footwear system comprised of a wrap, ribbon and flat and designed to offer a better-than-barefoot experience while solving the myriad issues that accompany simply not wearing shoes. The ribbon and wrap ensure some stability and support without hindering range-of-motion at all, with a minimal sole that offers a bit of protection and maximized flexibility. And unlike shoes, the wrap and ribbon can easily be tossed in the wash with the accompanying mesh storage bag, ensuring easy cleaning and portability.
In fairness, if you had legs like that you could wear a pair of empty Tayto bags.

Nike slowly coming round to bare foot teds advice
I like this. I hate wearing shoes. Wearing these would mean freedom to jiggle my toes while I do yoga or whatever at the gym without being barefoot and risk contracting athletes foot.
110 euros for an insole and a ribbon seems a little steep does it not?
Would be nice for yoga or zumba type classes if you’re not into wearing shoes but don’t want to go full bare foot at a gym! Can’t see how there’s much support in them for any other type of exercise?
Pad type shoes have been popular with modern dancers for a while, as they look barefoot, but have protection http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/shoes/modern/page1?SID=415034536&Shop=Style
