Well the first photo clearly shows a fork hitting the ground so it’s not sheet lightening which is cloud to cloud.
I didn’t say anything about the first picture. Obviously I’m talking about the second photo. It’s not ‘flash’ lightning. There’s no such thing.
I used to think it was called sheep lightning, cos the clouds lit up in the sky like giant sheep. Good times.
