The age profile is about right, but you’d have to up the X chromosome quota considerably to get a pro-choice rally. Then add forty years to the average age, mothball smell and the soothing light of the holy spirit and you’ve got a pro-life street party on your hands.

Spreading lies along with your fundamentalism. I’ve been at several pro-choice protests and the demographics of the protesters encompassed a range of ages, both men and women, and young families. You and your ilk will soon be in the grave and the women of Ireland will finally have their rights vindicated.

If only they would change their slogan to “Tax Cannabis”, I think they would receive a more sympathetic hearing from the establishment.

Is Ed Byrne the scaldy looking lad that swings off Data O’Brian coat tails whenever he’s on the telly?

      1. cluster

Ed Byrne may be a bit of a hack but Nej is the snivelly kid so unsure of himself that he feels the need to write off every humanities degree as worthless.

“and it now seems unlikely that contaminated cannabis was the cause of the hospitalisation of two women last week in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital”. However BS’s resident cannibis expert Atticus has rolled a joint using the report and has concluded that it was INDEED the weed that was at fault.

        1. Jesustonight

No problem…I was highlighting how this story faded very quickly from the media when they found out that it wasn’t the reffer madness after all. Goes to show how our media works to demonise a drug. You got the wrong end of the thai stick.

Am I the only one to think it funny that the cannabis lads and lasses are congregating in the garden of remembrance / :)

With our tendency to continually vote in conservative/centre-right governments I find it hard to see legalization happening any time soon. Best of luck to the campaign. Would be great to see common sense prevail.

I hope the social welfare take note of the people there and cut their dole off, let them toke their dope blunts then..

    1. cluster

‘let them toke their dope blunts then’
      Ahh, how cute.

Cannabis is clearly the cause of our currently high unemployment, we must stamp it out.

    2. Nigel

Don’t think taking a position on a political/social issue is grounds for for cutting off anyone’s dole. What sort of regressive and reactionary totalitarian state are you after, anyway?

    ‘Don’t Panic, It’s Organic’….?

Pull the other one, it’s gone a bong on it!

    ”It’s Not A Tonic, It’s Hydroponic’

…would be closer to the truth. Intensive cultivation on a three-bed-semi scale!

Ha ha ha I find the stereotyped comments so amusing. Only crustys smoke weed, urgh. I find it even more amusing that people who claim to be logical liberals who comment on broadsheet are on here siding with scum like ABM on this agenda. Oh it makes me chuckle

    1. Mick Flavin

I hope you don’t mean me there Drogg…I was attempting (and probably failing) to be sardonic re ABM’s own side…

      1. Drogg

Ha ha no mick not you I was enjoying your comments. You seem to get that all the hate is more people’s misunderstanding and fear of the unknown, then any actual problems.

    2. Jesustonight

      ‘scum like ABM’?

No need to resort to offensive language, figuratively speaking it’s like using sledge-hammer to crack a nut.

      1. Drogg

I’m not really careful with my words. Sledgehammer to open a nut would be about right, I sick of trying not to offend the right wing fascists

        1. The Citizen

ABM is scum. The dregs of slime left on the side of the test tube on a shelf in the sun in whatever laboratory the primordial ooze was created.

  7. emzo

I spot a smily picture … looks like a visiting American tourist (Anti abortion campaigner) got lost & joined the wrong protest!

  8. p-man

I know a doctor, a barristers, solicitors, engineers, a health-safety officer, a manager, finance advisors, a quantity surveyor and software engineers who all smoke green on occassion. They’re just discreet about it, and won’t attend a public protest out of fear that it could affect their careers. This notion that cannabis use is confined to hippies, students and people on the dole is bollox.
