[Michael] Martin said that in recent weeks the Taoiseach reacted to the Anglo Tapes, published by the Irish Independent, and spoke about an “axis of collusion” without a scrap of evidence.

The Fianna Fáil leader said the reports leave the Taoiseach red-faced because they show he was engaged in personal informal contact with Anglo senior management, and that they suggest the Taoiseach deliberately misled the Dáil in response to the Anglo Tape story when he talked about his personal contact with Anglo, as the only example he cited was a meeting in September 2008.

The former Anglo executive also writes about being in regular contact with former Fianna Fail TD Beverley Flynn.

He writes about “conversations” with Ms Flynn, and how she would update him on discussions with then Finance Minister Brian Lenihan.

Mr Moran is from Mr Kenny and Ms Flynn’s home town of Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Enda Kenny: The Anglo Connection (Tom Lyons and Daniel McConnell, Sunday Independent)

He [Matt Moran] is from a well-known Castlebar business family and the youngest offspring of the late Michael and Mary Moran. Over many decades the family has run  Rocky’s pub, and an undertaking business on Tucker Street. Coincidentally the pub is across the road from Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s constituency office.
