Beautiful.
Took the word from my mouth.
…me too
Its great what Drawout is doing, and really can bring dull buildings alive, more of this should be encouraged
Beautiful. the detail of the hand over the edge is great.
There are lots of great ones about this place. Makes such a difference.
These are on the next street over. The fenced areas been cleaned up and turned into a mini-park in the mean time too.

Jeez Mikeyfex, anyone would think you were proud of the place.. :)
Someone has to be, Anne. I took a photo of the one down on the dock road too but only noticed after that there’s a massive bird shizz on windscreen of the car I was in, and that took centre stage. Twas probably a feckin’ seagull; I’ll spare ye.
The one on the Dock Road (the old Ranks silo) is very impressive, for size as much as anything else. It’s not on the Drawout website, but in fairness I think it’s one to see in person to really appreciate it. I like the one near King John’s castle, I think that pre-dates CoC 2014 though?
There’s a lot of very good stuff happening around this festival – have you visited the little pop-up museum in the old Glynn’s butcher shop opposite the Hunt Museum?
Ya the one near the castle is class. Haven’t been to the pop-up museum yet, no. My ties with the art community in Limerick have been somewhat severed in the last few weeks. Personal crap. Let’s just say I’ll wait for the dust to settle a bit longer before I start mingling there again.
I must be blind as a bat.
Have missed these.. not paying as much attention when driving.
And I’d probably drive down the Dock Rd and by the Castle a few times a week..
ha, also, I meant to say ‘about the place’ not ‘this place’. Made it sound a bit like I was standing hands-on-hips in the middle of Pery Sq breathing deeply through my nose, saying to myself “yip, you’re gonna be just fine.”
I seem to recall you saying it was a sh*thole a few months back.. along with the other chumps on here, who probably know nothing about the place.
But anyway, I’m glad you’ve come to your senses, and all’s forgiven. :)
Its one of the best things to happen in Limerick…
Good job.
You’ve excelled yourself Mr Moynes.
haha
Love that, more please in all our cities.
Love it.
I see that they’re getting “El Mac” to paint. It says TBC. But he was supposed to start painting last Tuesday. Did he arrive and paint?

I love his work and was lucky enough to meet him when he was painting in Dublin for Kings of Concrete.
Here’s a mural he painted.

Very impressive..
very cool.
All very nice but on a pedantic note its i’ll think you’ll find its called W’allum Street
In case anyone is interested, there’s an exhibition of Gerry’s photographs from this period running in the National Photographic Archive at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar from August 7th until the end of the year.
Love that…
My favourite graffiti in Limerick at the moment is “Gizmo is a gowl” which is hauntingly etched on to the front of McDonalds Cruises Street, its a very active piece which asks questions of the viewer such as who is this Gizmo and why is he such a gowl
He was in there after d’Icon one night and sure he’s not meant to eat after midnight.
What do the Dundons, Keanes, McCarthys etc think of this stuff?
Sure they love an auld bit of art, them boys.
They’ve all moved to Laois.
