Only fooling themselves – it’s no secret that many of Ireland’s best ply their trade in countries more conducive to doing research (UK, USA and elsewhere..)

IDA, Sean Sherlock and the rest of them can go take a running jump off the nearest cliff for all I care…

the only research done here is in ways to make US corporations pay less taxes, pocket the kickbacks and let the stiffs pay the difference in taxes for their “services”.

I do research in Ireland. It’s my job and there are thousands of people like me. Just because you haven’t got a clue what you are talking about doesn’t mean you are right.

Check out SFI Little Book of Science.

Relentless negativity as usual from Conor

More importantly, George Boole is English, not Irish. He only came to Cork at the age of 34. And it’s Ernest Walton, not “Ernst”.

To be fair, apart from Stephen Hawking, how many living scientists from ANY country can people name?

It’s much harder to make huge discoveries these days.
