Were you ‘on’ last night?
An urgent appeal.
Ross Geraghty writes:
“I know you don’t normally do this but a taxi drove off with ALL my worldly possessions last night. Literally everything I own in the world and having just returned to work after a period of unemployment I really am up shit Creek right now. I’d really appreciate it if you could put something up on your site. it was just after Midnight from Camden Street and the taxi dropped me at the Supervalue in Churchtown. I’ve tried the guards but it wasn’t handed in. I’d just finished work and threw my bag in the boot, once I got our the driver must have forgot I’d my bag in the boot and left. …”
Anyone?

All your books?
Why didn’t you blah blah/you shouldn’t have blah blah blah. Blah.
Always always note the taxi company & the driver’s name. This obviously doesn’t help you right now, but if you find a time machine then that nugget of wisdom will save you a lot of heartache.
Easier said than done, especially when you’re mouldy drunk after coming out of the Bernard Shaw at 1 in the morning.
Wordy possessions? Literally?
Literary.
Sorry Mark and isallimsaying. Fixed now. Thank you
Keep trying the designated Garda Stations: Store Street, Tallaght and Stepaside. It is an awful feeling; I got my wallet back though. Good luck!
Store street, irishtown, finglas, tallaght are four of them.
This information may be of help…. http://www.transportforireland.ie/taxi/taxi-lost-property/
The driver must have forgotten you had your bag in the boot? Seems like something you should have remembered yourself :-/
sounds like the driver went off before he could open the boot
Damn that taxi driver and his inability to look after your possessions.
Chances are he drove straight to the airport Carlton and is now up to his oxters in your tights trying to figure out which one of your devices should go on the Garda Patrol.
If you want to post the ad up onto lost.ie I’ll bump it up to a premium ad for you. That way if it’s reported found you’ll receive an email with the details.
That is an excellent suggestion as well as being remarkably decent of you, Kevin Fagan.

*Supervalu*. No problem is too big for pedantry.
Try the carriage office. I got my phone back from there once after I left it in a taxi.
No carriage office anymore, designated garda stations where taxi men are supposed to leave items found.
You can still see the taxi number in the reflection on the car :)
you are neither clever nor funny you bad boy
Designated station for property is Finglas Garda station.
If you got out at the SuperValu in Churchtown, they have plenty of of CCTV cameras there and could have the taxi number sign recorded on their DVR.
Otherwise try and remember the route taken and go back along it and look for other premises that have CCTV outside – this is exactly what the Gardaí do in most cases and it they eventually find something.
All you need to tell the owner of the premises is the date and approx. time and they can search it in mins.
Once you have the taxi number you can then trace them via the Gardaí or psv.ie – goodluck!
