Karl Monaghan and John Moynes at last night’s Realex Fire Web Awards

In your office there’s work to be done,
But you’d rather lay low and have fun,
So you come here to meet,
The good folk of broadsheet,
Because we’re the best. We’re number one.

Fair play to all! John, take a day off. I do so love your work but that last line is sticking in my throat like a fish bone. Respect.

Does yer man only have the one suit?
Not too bad in fact, but seriously, that fat gold tie really has to go.

Hate to be a buzzkill, but it is not like ye faced stiff opposition, with the exception of waterfordwhispersnews (obviously, better luck next year, WWN).

Joe.ie, Her.ie and Evoke are all fairly big, heavily-resourced operations. Oxygen too, to an extent. And WWN, like you say, is a pretty serious force. It’s not exactly Best Picture calibre, but still a decent result.

Hate to kill your buzz, but that’s not the category that broadsheet won for. Her.ie won best daily publications.

Bs won in Best web only publication which WWN didn’t seem to be up for .

As has been said, Her and Joe are fairly big sites as well.

  2. Frilly Keane, Anyone?

What d’ye get off ’em anyway

Team building trip to Sandy Lane?
    Tayto hamper?
    Medals n flowers?
Sum’ting nice for the receptionist to polish maybe

Not bad for having very little exclusive content (mainly its a news relay site – the comments making up the buzz) – Looking at the result site from Realex I feel sad, the site is reminiscent of something from the late 1990, even the website listed are not hyper-linked. Anyway, kudos all around!
