Liz O’Donnell, who is replacing Gay Byrne as head of the Road Safety Association (RSA)

The workers at the RSA,
Have said goodbye to Uncle Gay,
And are now greeting Liz,
As it looks like she is,
To be hired sometime later today.

    She’s come a long way hasn’t she
To the RSA from the PDs
    Long roads have no turns
    Just ask your man Byrne
Who must wish he was back on TV

Must have missed the advertisement by Minister Paschal Donohoe. I wonder how many applications he received, I wonder when the interviews were held and if it was a close run thing in the end.

How much of our money is Lizzie getting in salary, pension, benefits and expenses?

Do you really need more evidence that this country is organised to enrich the same crony group of people

She’s been working as a lobbyist for the last few years. She’s currently a columnist for the Denis O’Brien owned Irish Independent. She was on the board of the Denis O’Brien owned Communicorp (Newstalk, Today FM, etc.) as a non-exec director.

Despite Lowry, Fine Gael are obviously incapable of separating themselves from O’Brien.

It seems such an Irish convention
not strictly in road death prevention
    to give handy jobs
    to celebrity knobs
who shan’t scrape by on their fat pension

It must be great for the morale
And as fun as a long root canal
    That the staff will endure
    a grand sinecure
Gifted out on the auld rationale

“In September 2007, O’Donnell revealed that she regularly did radio interviews in her underwear while she was a serving politician.”

Well if that doesn’t qualify her for the job, nothing will.
