What you may need to know:
1. Oh, you know this one… Wealthy businessman (Jamie Foxx) rescues a young girl (Quvenzhané Wallis) from an orphanage run by a nasty piece of work (Cameron Diaz)?
2. Reeks of something to do with the kids over Christmas when all other possibilities are exhausted. Like the Jedward Panto. Or defrosting the freezer.
3. Expect lessons to be learned, obstacles to be overcome and everyone to grow a little from the experience. With songs… so many songs.
4. Quvenzhané follows Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012) and 12 Years a Slave (2013) with this? Sheesh.
5. Spike Lee should consider rebooting The Wiz (1978) with Jennifer Lawrence as Dorothy, Steve Buscemi as the Scarecrow and Jack Black as the Lion.
6. Broadsheet Prognosis: I feel a song coming on.
Release Date: December 20

Euww, sort of roundabout sleekit hinted-at UKIPish racism as early as comment 2. Well done.
That is a beautiful adjective. Bookmarked that one (in my brain).
Ah go have an organic fair trade soya flat white in a super self conscious cafe.
Learn what real racism is.
You’re nice, Mr T. You just don’t know it yet.
It was meant to be a comment on leaving the classics alone.

And you are right, why fix something that ain’t broke.
Supersensitive? Moi? *Munches organic fair trade soya flat white in a super self conscious café trawling comments to be offended at …*
Just watch Beasts of the Southern Wild again. Beautiful film.
I had a bad first impression of this Annie when I first saw a trailer earlier in the year. But I did grow up with the original Annie, which is a classic childrens movie to me. So I doubt anything will come close to pleasing me.
I can just hear all the comments being held back. Oh relax people and stop being so Hipster meek.
Oh that wasn’t supposed to be a reply to Sheila. Who fupping cares anyway.
For Fupp sake. I can’t believe you replace FUPP with fupp.
