Dubliner Duncan Cambell, winner of the 2014 Turner Prize
So this year the big Turner Prize,
Goes to one of our own arty guys,
It’s a shame that he ain’t,
One to sit down and paint,
He does modern art, which I despise.

Maybe he’ll be our ‘McQueen’ and make a few top class movies :)
Despises modern art, yet bravely eschews the fusty old constrictions of meter and scansion.
Aye. That last line is all over the gaff.
The majority of his limericks are a horror show, especially the last lines.
Ahh the internet where a 100% good news story about a globally successful artist is celebrated by saying we despise his artform – hurrah!

It’s a pathetic post.

Top man, well done to him.
His work is on display at IMMA right now

“Despise”? That’s a strong word.
what a moronic statement.
you should for for the Senatorial career like fellow slackjawed Senator Marie-Louise O’Donnell who has no truck for modern art.
Tedious, Moynes.

by the way, the Turner prize is for British artists.
Artists based in the UK. Another nominee was Canadian. By the way.
It is open to any artist who lives in Britain.
Apparently the most dull year for the Turner prize. Not even the KLF would offer an alternative prize
Aye, because your limericks are better. Moron.
John Moynes is a tawat.
I thought his name was familiar:

well done duncan!
a wee lesson for john moynes, who seems like an arse.
“modern art” is a period which ended over 30 years ago. it included painting.
i do like the fact that you chose to celebrate your ignorance through the medium of a limerick though.
