diversity

Make some friends.

Hear some tunes.

And slurp tay with some of the LGBT tech community in Dublin.

Conor Kavanagh writes:

A gaggle of LGBT employees from the Dublin tech community are hosting a fundraiser in Everleigh Gardens on Thursday, December 4th. We’re trying to raise funds for ShoutOut [LGBT youth support group] – to whom your readers have been extremely kind in the past. There are going to be tunes, free food, premium prizes (phones, tablets, tech swag, WebSummit tickets) to be won and a welcoming crowd!

Tickets are €10 (excluding booking fee) and all funds go directly to ShoutOut. It’s being thrown by InterTech, a coalition of the LGBT employees from six of the tech firms in Dublin (Google, Facebook, Twitter, Airbnb, LinkedIn and Dropbox) who want to contribute to the diversity debate in Ireland.

If 2014 has shown us anything, it is that the more passive we are about homophobia – the greater damage it does to us, and to the generation that follows. If you can’t come (we’ll cry) – but try to buy a ticket anyway to support a good cause.
