Anyone renew car insurance recently? All my quotes are coming in well over what I paid last year. I’m now up to 6 years no claims and I’ve even dropped off some points.
They’re telling me it’s because there was a large amount of claims made in general in the last 12months. Is it that or is it just because it’s party time again?
I got that line last July. But negotiated it down to the 2013 level again by spinning one insurer off the other. Took half a day mind.
It definitely pays to ring around. Once you get a quote, tell them you’ve gotten a number elsewhere 15% below what they’ve just given you. That’s about as much wiggle room the people in call centres have to discount.
