I am trying to find the owner of a very nice Samsung phone that was found outside my workplace on Lower Hatch Street [Dublin 2 ] on Sunday night/Monday morning. It’s locked, so I can’t contact anyone on it to find an owner. We’ve had it on all week, but nobody has called it. There is a missed call on it from someone named Joyce, though. It’s off now as I tried to use the IMEI to contact Vodafone and get them to contact the owner (they weren’t very helpful).
If nobody claims it by the end of the week, I’ll hand it in to Pearse St Garda Station. I’m sure someone is missing it, though! It has a message saying ‘Cougar Baby’ above the unlock screen when it turns on, but the missed calls block that.
Anyone?
UPDATE: Owner located!
Cougar Baby might be too embarrassed to pick it up now
if it ends up in pearse st the owner might never see it again
Why?
‘Cougar Baby’ above the unlock screen when it turns on….
Whatever floats yer boat hai ! :)
can the top screen be dragged down to view part of the whatsapp message or text message?
Nope. Galaxy S4. You can only do that when it’s set to ‘swipe’ unlock. Probably from feckin’ Joyce anyway.
They should probably tell Joyce to back off with her OTT one call and two messages, but it looks like Joyce might be their only friend.
As youse might say yourselves: MMF.
MMF would suggest they have two friends
You know, I thought that as I typed but I said “Nah”.
I now see the error of my ways.
Oh, hang on. Mmf. I also erred with my capital letters.
Give the IMEI to a vodafone rep on Boards.ie in their “talk to” section and get them to contact the owner. I did the same for an iPhone I found and got it back to the owner that way.
Who’s our Vodafone rep?
( see the way I said *our” there)
Hit Emergency calls, there should be an icon that looks like a silhouette select that and hopefully the person has in putted some real life emergency contacts.
In fairness, I doubt my phone rings even once a week, these days. It used to, but now I communicate with my friends by text or message. And I use my phone for apps, but I only tend to call out to make appointments. Other than that, I barely have voice calls now. Occasionally it rings right next to me and I’m really startled cos I kinda forget that it’s an actual phone! And I do have some friends. Honest :-)
That’s a great idea Ms Piggy. I mostly hate chatting on the phone but have a few friends who persist with the 10pm calls.
