Swan Lake, Dublin 8. Three beds, 3 bathrooms, private jetty on the Liffey, state of the art multi-room sound system and home cinema.
Yours to rent for a trifling €4,250 per month.
Cheaper than it was back in 2011, in fairness.

Rent allowance not accepted. Ha ha!!
DAMMIT!
In other news, I think this property was featured on this site before.
I think you’re right Andyourpointiswhatexactly. Sorry.
No apology needed. I’m happy out ranting at the same things time after time.
You’re not alone there
OK, it’s a fab house etc etc
BUT…
Does anyone really need a TV that big? And do you really need to sit so close if there’s a state of the art sound system? At what point does it stop being a TV and start being an x-ray machine?
Yes a tv can never be too big.
+4K
Actualy 4K tv’s currently aren’t great as they have a massive lag on them and currently the only way to play 4k on your tv is youtube who have claimed themselves that the 4K player doesn’t really work and it is just upres’d 1920×1080.

-4K
dont forget, most tv broadcasters say theyre HD but are shot on lesser cameras and blown up to 2K then broadcast even lower. RTE still uses Betamax tapes for alot of its stuff too.
Just get a 50″ LCD and be happy with eyes that can focus
You mean digibeta not betamax? and now rte is HD. It does still output old programs from digi but all new ones are 50mbit1920x1080 even though if you have sky HD they take a standard def transmission from rte then upres it and out put it as HD this is only for rte 1though, rte 2 they show in Full HD.
+300
It’s not big enough.
I do!
*checks lotto tickets*
Unspeakably ugly.
That’s actually not that crazy, given the prices they’re asking for a two bedroom in Drimnagh.
agreed, compare what you get for 1500 to this
Genuinely curious, are there many public or private jetties along that bit of the river, and what are they used for?
They’re usually used for boats.
…and body disposal, yeah?
Heh. Smartypants.
Those houses have been for sale and for rent for years. They were an celtic tiger white elephant considering that they are a nice house but on an awkward road (hence the revolving platform for the car) and right beside a few council flats which would be undesirable when spending so much. I used to live beside this place in Island bridge, lovely area since its right beside the park and a 30 minute walk to grafton street but we used to have teenagers roaming around the complex that I lived in (bridgewater quay) and bikes were regularly stolen even though we had a gate and CCTV. You could buy/rent nicer houses in other parts of Dublin a lot cheaper is my opinion.
Here they are for sale for 1.8 and 2 million

Came here to say this.
They were featured on here when they went on sale first.
I am genuinely surprised some individual didn’t rent it so they could commute down the Liffey to work in the IFSC or elsewhere ( Dun Laoighaire etc…anywhere coastal ) . . .but then again the Liffey is tidal not sure it would work all the time.
“beside a few council flats which would be undesirable when spending so much”
Yeah I wouldn’t like stuck up nouveau riche c***s living beside me either.
Mr Sensitive is very sensitive
used to live in Bellevue across the river from it, had a good laugh at it at the time. The road is a nightmare for access.
Also caught some lads trying to knick bikes in the Bellevue basement, they were so obvious it was hilarious and easily chased away. The flats are very settled and I’d be surprised if any/much trouble comes from them
I can promise you that save for the big projector screen, that is not – nor anywhere near – a state of the art home cinema. It’s pretty crappy in fact. Very disappointing. It would be the first to go…..
its only for rent, so likely it wont’ be going anywhere.
True, looks like it was put together ten years ago.
:)
Heavy rain high tides =floods =nightmare
Rats!! Lots of them, especially beside the river.
As for the home theatre, it’s a bit dated – you need something outrageously over the top like this!

attended the wedding of the couple who built this.
And?
The afters.
I pass by these quite a bit and always wonder why someone would pay so much for a property that has a shared space on the water front. For the cost of one of these you’d be better off saving your money and buying something down by Strawberry Beds that is more secluded.
They have previous

I’d prefer the gaff in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
and the car too
And the girlfriend.
Testify!
in fairness that’s not bad rent considering what you get…three professionals could share it for €1400 each…or three couples for €700 per person, although that’s always asking for trouble.
I’d love to live there just for that indoor/outdoor room looking over the water. heaven.
Pooholes
Nice house by the river. A flood risk though. Not high enough up the bank.
Seriously though. Imagine the riding you would be doing in that gaff. Be at it day and night you would.
Rats n’ floods goys.
Viewed a more modest property on same stretch of riverbank some years ago – same distance and height from river – unmistakable evidence of flooding on the ground floor. Trust your instinct with waterside properties.
This is probably good for short-term executive rentals though and I certainly wouldn’t turn down a party invite.
always the bitter word
Is that ‘300’ on the TV?
Someone who likes ‘300’ is exactly the sort of person who would love this house.
