Serveandreturn: My first EVER mobile phone call was to set up my voicemail. My SECOND ever mobile phone call was to the same phone on the same day (it was a deal the AIB were doing in UCD). This story is a vehicle to tell everyone my mother and I started the same Orts degree in UCD at the same time, which is a strange little factoid. It is also a good example of bad communication, as I haven’t delivered an on-point answer via digital communication. Now if there was only some course I could go on to rectify this…
Thanks all
my mother to tell her that the cat had puked all over the garden because it ate a slug. Looked like a mix between snot and strawberry milkshake
Only 2 women? I’ll be outside protesting

My first EVER mobile phone call was to my friend Dan and he asked me what kind of phone I had and I said a Motorola Timeport. And he said, ‘that’s saaad, you wana upgrade’. I said, so do you – to a new face. He nearly soiled himself!
My first EVER mobile phone call was to my elderly aunt in the UK, ON a huge ego buzz while standing at Tara Street Dart Station with my new dog and bone; the Motorola 7200, it being the shape and weight of a Butterley brick but with that cool flipping feature that was so Captain Kirk. She assumed I was at home on the landline and in for an epic one…so she says “Hang on love” and off she she slowly toddled for what was easily 10 minutes, to pour herself a G&T, light a fag, sling the cat out and get herself comfortable. Had to do a Dom Joly when my Dart arrived. My bad.
My first ever mobile call was to the lady that told you your account balance (1741 i think it was) on my brother’s Nokia ringo – my brother’s eircell pay as ya go jobby. Used to sneak goes of it during the night while he wasnt looking like. Of course I eventually moved onto the harder stuff…. It went from that to the speaking clock. Then I needed a bigger buzz man. I just wasnt using enough credit – so i started doing it on the day-time tariff. From there I went onto the 1800 premium stuff – loads of sixes and nines in the numbers…. (sips water, dries sweaty palms)… really premium stuff!! Ironically it was a phone call that got me back on the straight n narrow. I just had to talk to joe!

My first EVER mobile phone call was to my older sister on one of her Motorola bricks as she worked for that O’Brien pri….. *dropped line* …..back in the days of Digifone ….or Dodgyfone as we did call it.
I myself hated them, and did not get a mobile until mid 2000…. my resistance was futile. But sure, I know I should win this, because that’s why, and I said so, so there, but I can’t go, so I’ll allow you to give it to someone less deserving… this time.
My first EVER mobile phone call was to 1741 (aka the top-up lady at Eircell) on my brothers hand me down Nokia 5110..

My first EVER mobile phone call was to my older sister on a Nokia 3310. I had nobody else to ring at the time. She said that I ‘punked’ her and proceeded to throw my phone onto the carpet only for it to bounce and hit the wall. The wall was never the same again.
Serious lol.
Nobody had anyone to ring. Now we can’t shake them off….
That’s pathetic, what’s second prize? Three tickets?
Apparently 999 are plagued with spam phone calls each Christmas as people check their new phones that have no sim cards to see if they work.
My first EVER mobile phone call was to the “top up number” on a Siemens C25′ just to check my credit to see how many texts I could send. This was also at a period where I believed texts were charged by the word!
