oh my god. make a family day of it, bring the kids, lets go for a drink after? Who the hell are these nut jobs!! Their advert pic – a Mosque burt to the ground? I really hope there are 2 guys (or ladies) standing their on their own, and close to a road, where a car May or may not bump into them accidently on purpose..

Why can racists never spell or punctuate? And why are they always drawn from the ranks of people who, if you were going to design a master race, would be firmly in the application not successful list?

    1. Fatman Scooperman

Because they come from the poorest most marginalised sections of Irish society so use hatred of other races in Ireland as an outlet for their anger and to make themselves feel better than someone else.

report that there is a picture of a woman showing her diddies and they will be on it sharp enough. at that point the person reviewing the page should have the gumption to see this shite and shut it down

Already tried, got the standard ‘does not violate community standards’ response.

Did send an email to the Mosque management as well as a heads up.

Irish Voice, isn’t that the outfit linked to Irish Republican Voice’s James McDonagh, the agitated lad with the wonky eye who’s a familiar sight on the fringe of protests, jumping around like he has ants in his pants. James was formerly an associate of Alan Ryan, the geebag who tried to extort the wrong drug dealers.

Seems like these fringe groups will select any issue, water charges (where they try to hijack proceedings on occasion, genuine protesters need to be wary of them, last protest I spotted some familiar faces at the interface on Kildare Street looking for aggro, and they were later stopping traffic at the south end of O’Connell Bridge), bank debt, student fees and now hostility to Muslims. Plagiarising what the EDL do, and giving it a go in Dublin?

I know people have reported the page in the past and it stayed going. Apparently it wasn’t breaking any Facebook rules.

But I reported now myself anyway.

      1. Hank

        Reported too.
They have a specific category for hate based on religion. I don’t see how this isn’t contravening that..

        1. Stumpy

They’re to be mocked and pitied more than anything else. Although, if you were of a mind to, you could always notify the employers of some of the more obnoxious/racist/inciting contributors to the page…….

Sunday afternoon is likely to be busy at the mosque. I’d police this to hell and lift any scumbag that displays any sign of harassment.

      1. Spaghetti Hoop

I don’t know about their holy day but I assumed all religious places were busy at the weekend when followers are off work and school.

  5. medieval knievel

wow. “No matter what you think about Jews today you have to agree that what they went through 70 years ago was horrendous .”

  6. Sinabhfuil

Would it be worth having a “Hands Around the Mosque” of peaceable types holding hands in a chain to protect it against this hate demo on Sunday?

    1. Bobby

Wouldn’t be a bad idea. But I get the feeling that nobody is actually going to turn up at this “protest” anyway.

  7. Stumpy

CALLING ALL MOUTH-BREATHERS AND KNUCKLE DRAGGERS…….WILL YOU BE THERE?

My-life-didn’t-work-out-the-way-I-wanted-it-to Ireland are holding a demonstration against people we feel like picking on. (it reminds us of school)

    1. Alan

Well you could start an anti-racisim protest there… but the risk is being confused for one of these clowns.

    2. Fatman Scooperman

I think you need to dress in black and wear a gas mask /shemagh, hurl abuse at the racists then leg it.

    3. Joe the Lion

would be real nice if the marriage equality folks showed up and held a vigil at the mosque as well

  8. Gav D

I’m sure this will be attended by moderate, upstanding members of the community, and not people in any way that you’d cross the street to avoid when on an evening out in town.

    1. RealCorkLanger

Fair play to you Ruth! Saw the follow up tweet, its amazing these type groups almost immediately resort to trying to bully someone when they are challenged! Sociology or psychology experiment in the making there I’d say!

        1. RealCorkLanger

I see they took down your photo and the mad ‘fighting Irish’ post! A win for decent people!

  9. Disgruntled Goat

    1. Xenophobic statements/unfounded threats
    2. The promise of alcohol
    3. Dressing the desire for a fight/riot as “peaceful protest”

    It’s the thug moron trifecta!

I have reported this page to facebook as there is blatant hate-speech going on.
These so called “republicans” wouldnt know the meaning of a true fair democratic state.
I am very worried as a young Irishman where this country is going; there is a growing trend for these sort of “hate-mob” groups, and people can lose all sense of decency and perspective when they are brainwashed by these groupings. How dare they use the phrase “Irish Voice” as though they are somehow representative of us as a people- they are only representative of a tiny minority of narrow minded bigots.

    1. j9

I reported the page too – got this back from FB
Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed the Page you reported for harassment and found that it doesn’t violate our Community Standards.
Note: If you have an issue with something on the Page, make sure you report the content (e.g. a photo), not the entire Page. That way, your report will be more accurately reviewed.
So I reported this specific post – we’ll see if I get anything different back …

      1. Dubloony

Well done. But think this is a matter for the Gardai at this stage. Completely unacceptable.
And what’s with the Belfast guys coming down? Are they bored that there is’t enough hate up there?

  11. ollie

Is this page an example of free speech? is it ok to make fun of mohammed? is it going to snow at 5:00?

  12. everybody

All these Broadsheet hypocrites trying to silence speech they don’t like …. Je Suis whatever …. Oh ok

  13. Nikki

Yeah these guys are complete lunatics. They have banned me from posting and delete any comments against them as soon as they are posted.
They also personally threatened me but really they are such lunatics it’s rather funny at times. Also because my surname is Brooks I am not a “real” Irish person, even though I was born here, and all my family for generations, so being a true Irish person is pretty hard tbf, in their standards.

I read about this protest earlier and it’s just so depressing; bringing along the kids so they can be taught to be complete hate filled bigots as well.

Also report away, even though it is incitement of hatred, Facebook love being a platform for free speech so they wont get taken down. However, it does REALLY annoy them so I try and do it when I think of it, just to pee them off a little :D

    Peace, humans

Also the chap that runs it has these running statuses of where he “catches out” foreigners posing as Irish people:

“At a place I am staying in over in Galway there is a male receptionist . I detected an eastern European accent so being the curious type of guy I asked him where he is from . He said ” Poland but I’m Irish” I looked at him and said “what ? ” he said ” i am Irish as I have an Irish passport” I replied ” you may have a Irish passport but you are not Irish . A citizen yes but you are not the same as me and my family ” he looked down at me and so I said ” you are a Polish guy with an Irish passport and thats it as nothing about you is Irish “”

    and

“Thought I’d drop into Temple Bar area of Dublin to see what our visitors are getting up to . In a bar there is a Brazilian looking girl doing face painting . She did a clover and a flag on her own face . The flag she did was with the orange to the pole . I told her it was wrong to which she replied it wasn’t . I told her what she has is the ivory Coast and she tried arguing about it so I got my phone and showed her and told her I am Irish and know my own flag . She replied “I’m Irish too” oh really I thought and she said it was due to doing it in the mirror . Surely even doing it in the mirror you would still have the green to the pole ?”

    It’s amazing.

    1. squiggleyjoop

They are incredible. Just going around of his own accord. He should start filming these confrontations.

    2. Caroline

It totally is because of doing it in the mirror, which goes to show that he himself has NEVER painted an Irish flag on his face, making his claims to Irishness highly suspect. I imagine his passport is being reviewed as we speak.

  15. Royal M

Inshallah nobody will show up at this. The Goat and other pubs in the area should let it be known that any knuckledraggers who do decide to go will not be welcome on their premises

  16. Kieran NYC

They should hurl abuse at everyone going in and out of the mosque, and block their cars in for a couple of hours.

If they shout ‘Peaceful protest!’ loud enough, they’ll be grand.
