Classy front page on the Cork Examiner.
As I posted a few hours too late on yesterday’s papers…
There’s a difference between evidence being reported at trial and sensationalist headlines splashed all over print, radio and television in a “Look at her, the sick slut. Let’s all pore over her sex-life” kind of way.
A moralistic, Catholic-guilt, holier-than-thou attitude to sex, especially sex that is considered outside the ‘norm’.
Totally unnecessary and undignified.
What Catholic guilt about it. You would get the same tabloid cr&p in the UK or Germany
Examiner selling 34,000 copies a day in the six months to December 2014. Probably down to 32,000 today. They’re drowning. Expect a lot more “revealed”, “exposed”, “secret” and sex-sells headlines in the near future.
the headline of the (UK) Times…
