This afternoon

He should have shorn the locks and grown the goatee a long time ago, he looks less sleazy and more trustworthy now.

….because like the Dwyer case not everything said and done in a court is permitted to be published for the public like.

I’d start there with your investigation.

But the public don’t write for newspapers, assuming that’s where you got your information about the case – unless, of course, you were actually there?

Friday last probably showed the Gardai in this country at their best (despite the possibly unlawful dumpster diving and accessing phone records contrary to EU law). I think the jury will take a few days with the Bailey case, but the Gardai in west Cork look as if they’re about to be shamed.

“You can’t say it’s private if a hobo can use it as a wigwam! That’s the standard, isn’t it, if animals or vagrants can get in?”

Gardai at their best? Yeah right. The leaking of all that data from pulse to the papers before the ink on his finger was dry.

Did you ever contemplate that maybe our world renowned Gardai were covering up for one of their own or somebody well connected and from Schull/Ballydehob?

He probably should have won as that was an omnishambles of an investigation but I guess he’s such an unlikeable character that the jury were willing to buy the defence.
I think he did it. Based on a feeeeeeling.

I’m not sure it’s unlawful to seize someone’s trash if it’s left out in public, couldn’t figure out if that was the case from the reports though

      I’m singing Boston now, thanks…..

It’s more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
‘Till I see Bailey walk away
I see Mr Bailey walkin’ awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy !!!!!

Sorry Andy that was @ soundings

On your point I agree I must say but sure that’s why he’s suing us. The Gardai went after him based in part on that flawed analytical method

How come comments are allowed on this? Comments on the Elaine O’Hara murder case were only permitted on social media after the verdict.

Some rather risqué comments here, Broadsheet.

Since everyone’s at it, I’ll push the boat out myself: A bungled police investigation does not an innocent man (necessarily) make.

He may well be guilty, but HE wasn’t on trial. The case was: Was he fitted up by the honourable Cork peacekeepers? His problem was that so much evidence introduced during the case was deemed inadmissible, or past its sell-by-date, or the wrong colour for the time of day in the week.

  8. Soundings

Now that this case has been disposed of by the High Court, can Fennelly now publish his interim report on the circumstances surrounding the ahem, resignation of the Garda Commissioner last year?

      1. ollie

4 months in court and all the evidence was deemed inadmissible at the very end even though this was known at the start of the case. lawyers gravy train rolls on.
