Coming up from Wexford  [This morning] What is the best place to have a reasonably priced lunch outdoors – northside or southside – I have no preference but not off the beaten track and not a battle cruiser [pub]. Sort it.

No need for the rudeness.

Anyone?

Was closed for renovation. Has it reopened? If so, it’s a very nice terrace. Food is decent enough albeit mass produced.

Coming back to Ireland for a couple of weeks, and you’ve just given me the urge to go back there. Thank you!

Quality of food and service in the Metro cafe has dropped seriously. Not impressed with the new menu either.

I dunno, some things have gotten better, the Breakfast has massively improved, they have a better selection of healthy options now too. I miss the loss of the Louisiana Chicken, but sure menu’s change.

Lemon Jelly in the Italian Quarter, also Mick Wallaces places are near there and Boojum.
Dont bother with Brother Hubbards or Bread and Bones nice food but way over priced

Good place but get there before 12.30 to the beat the queue of self important types all loudly discussing their weekends of sailing.

I’m going to have to send you a cease-and-desist letter. This blatant appropriation of my shtick is not on!

Cake Cafe, Camden Street has a nice outdoor area. They have their own entrance out back, but you can also get to it through Daintree Paper

Also, Sophies Bar at the top of The Dean is nice too. But I’ve not eaten there. From all accounts the service can be miss more than hit.

Simple really, for a nice café experience go Metro Cafe. If you want to enjoy the sun go to the Green Bench (get there early) and go to Iveagh Gardens.

So, ‘where’s Wally’ going for lunch and when can we expect the receipt with the ridiculously high price for sparkling mineral water?

I haven’t been in about a year, so that could possibly be the case now. Although, when I was there I never felt squashed in.

I’m not normally a fan of pub lunches either but Oscars on Smithfield Square is great and they have seats outside.

Village Café in Rathmines has the best sun terrace that I know. Not too busy during the week so should get a table. Get a nice glass of white and some Spanish Paella and away you go.

Get a torta in pablo picantes, Mexiacan food in a sourdough bread roll, fuckin amazin, I think they have seats outside.

      1. Drogg

No i was giving options which i thought was being helpful but you obviously have a small mickey complex if you have to question my literacy for giving an extra option.

  14. John Braine

Get anything from the Yum Thai Noodle Bar on Baggot Street and bring it to Stephen’s Green.

    Best €5.80 you’ll spend on a meal.

I recommend the Massaman or the Gang Dang
