Coming up from Wexford [This morning] What is the best place to have a reasonably priced lunch outdoors – northside or southside – I have no preference but not off the beaten track and not a battle cruiser [pub]. Sort it.
No need for the rudeness.
Anyone?

Dail bar.
Balcony of M&S on Grafton Street
Was closed for renovation. Has it reopened? If so, it’s a very nice terrace. Food is decent enough albeit mass produced.
Top Floor of the Dean Hotel have a nice outdoor spot and a lovely brunch / lunch menu.
Yeah, I’d go with the Dean as well. It’s a nice spot and reasonably central.
The Dean’s crap, too near Coppers.
And how is that an issue at noon on a weekday?
the smell of vomit outside it is rank. it wafts through that area.
The dean is the most pretentious overpriced poo hole in Dublin.
I know its greats, keeps the riff raff out !
Then why did they let me in?
Sub 15 euro for a good pizza a great view…
Tosser central.
It’s Dublin. Everywhere that has an outdoor area is full of tossers.
Beef roll with gravy and fries is great value.
Metro Café, corner of Chatham St and Sth William St.
+100 I don’t go there enough
+ some more
Coming back to Ireland for a couple of weeks, and you’ve just given me the urge to go back there. Thank you!
Metro Cafe or Busyfeet oe one of them on Sth William St.
Yeah Metro… hmmm…

Chez Max, Palace St
South William St: selection of joints with outside tables
The Bailey? Not since about 1994!
Otherwise, all excellent, crack on.
Sort it? Sort it yourself. How are you going back to Wexford? Sort it.
Quality of food and service in the Metro cafe has dropped seriously. Not impressed with the new menu either.
I dunno, some things have gotten better, the Breakfast has massively improved, they have a better selection of healthy options now too. I miss the loss of the Louisiana Chicken, but sure menu’s change.
Lemon Jelly in the Italian Quarter, also Mick Wallaces places are near there and Boojum.
Dont bother with Brother Hubbards or Bread and Bones nice food but way over priced
“in the Italian Quarter”
LOL. You mean the Italian One Twentieth.
pretty much!
… but it’s in the shade for practically the whole day down that lane, in fairness.
It is but the food is good (Caesar salad and the crepes nom nom nom!!)
The Green Bench – Best sambos in the city. Pop in to the Iveagh Gardens to scoff it.
Good place but get there before 12.30 to the beat the queue of self important types all loudly discussing their weekends of sailing.
I’m going to have to send you a cease-and-desist letter. This blatant appropriation of my shtick is not on!
Hatch and son near the little muesum on st green. Brilliant sandwiches salads all take away walk ocer to Stephens green

Sit on Duke St. You’ll get the noise and pan handlers everywhere.
Ask me (insert dublin colloquialism for scrotum)!
Cake Cafe, Camden Street has a nice outdoor area. They have their own entrance out back, but you can also get to it through Daintree Paper
Also, Sophies Bar at the top of The Dean is nice too. But I’ve not eaten there. From all accounts the service can be miss more than hit.
Yep Cake Cafe, still the best known secret in Dublin
Simple really, for a nice café experience go Metro Cafe. If you want to enjoy the sun go to the Green Bench (get there early) and go to Iveagh Gardens.
So, ‘where’s Wally’ going for lunch and when can we expect the receipt with the ridiculously high price for sparkling mineral water?
Liffey boardwalk.
only two things ever come out of Wexico…. and you don’t look like no strawberry
Is the larger ‘Queen of Tarts’ still on Cow’s Lane, excellent cake!
Is it not a bit squashed, tables too close to each other.
I haven’t been in about a year, so that could possibly be the case now. Although, when I was there I never felt squashed in.
I’m not normally a fan of pub lunches either but Oscars on Smithfield Square is great and they have seats outside.
Yeah
Stephens Green
And share yer ting foil wrapped hang sangwiches with the birdies
‘Cause I know you have ’em with ya
Village Café in Rathmines has the best sun terrace that I know. Not too busy during the week so should get a table. Get a nice glass of white and some Spanish Paella and away you go.
Get a torta in pablo picantes, Mexiacan food in a sourdough bread roll, fuckin amazin, I think they have seats outside.
Frite haus on Camden St or if your looking for fancy Camden kitchen just off the top of Camden street.
Do you have reading difficulties?
No i was giving options which i thought was being helpful but you obviously have a small mickey complex if you have to question my literacy for giving an extra option.

Get anything from the Yum Thai Noodle Bar on Baggot Street and bring it to Stephen’s Green.
Best €5.80 you’ll spend on a meal.
I recommend the Massaman or the Gang Dang
So where did his Wexfordship decide I the end?
Bison Bar on the quays. Fairly central and really good value BBQ food.
