Remember ‘missing’ George?
He’s in so much trouble
Gavin Fogarty writes:
Even though technically you didn’t find him…Last October you posted about our cat George who had gone missing from Stoneybatter. Yesterday, after being missing for 6 months, he was returned to us!
Turns out he was living with the girl in the apartment two floors above us the WHOLE time. Somehow she missed the posters and flyers in the area, and of course the broadsheet post, and thought he was lost.
Finally got a call from [DSPCA microchip whatsit] Pet Trace this week and we have him home again. Just wanted to say thanks for posting about it, and share a bit of good (albeit relatively unimportant) news.

That’s why people don’t like cats.
…maybe it’s cats aren’t that fond of people…
Wrong. This is why people LOVE cats! How sneaky of George!! Plus how can you be mad at that face…
Cheatin’ basterd
Delighted you got George back. He’s beautiful! Hope your neighbour now has visitation rights!
they didn’t get george back. cats don’t have owners, they have servants.
Sluh
:D
..and reason 163 why I like broadsheet, it runs and runs with a story about [redacted] and then it posts about the return of missing cat George.
I want to get my own cat, but I don’t want the responsibility of looking after one for 10+ years, so I’ve started plying the neighbour’s cat with food so it comes and hangs out here, but then make him scoot out the door when I’m bored or have to work to do.
I guess I’m just a terrible person.
Replace cat with child and you have a serious post on your hands.
I also do this. Best of both worlds.
You could foster a kitten. It’s usually between 2 – 10 weeks. Very rewarding when you get a bedraggled kitten and through your love and nurturing, you give back a healthy kitten ripe for adoption. http://www.dspca.ie/index.jsp?p=102&n=210&a=0
Lovely looking Kitty!
maybe everybody with missing bikes should look upstairs too?
+1
Really?? She must be floating around in her own world not to have seen the missing cat flyers.
I’m glad he’s back
Proof that you never own a cat.
They grace you with their presence.
As long as they deem you worthy.
the handsome rogue, look at him.
He’s so lovely, I probably wouldn’t have noticed the posters either.
Ha! That’s what I think really happened too :)
I’d’a funted him up the arse
And over the balcony
And watch him fall
Back to his own gaff
Cuppa thay
And a Twix
And turn off d’telly
You’ll be grand in the morning
They should have listened to my advice on the original post…go door to door to all your neighbours and if they’re not in leave a flyer in their post box!
I remember that suggestion and figured they’d read the comments and see it too.
I DID!!! I left TWO leaflets in the letterbox of the apartment he was being kept in. Absolutely NO idea how they were missed!
On purpose, presumably.
Yep, I think She was too fond of George to give him back!
Anyway, I am really delighted George is back in his rightful abode. I know how upsetting it is when a cat goes missing.
Far too many cat related articles on Broadsheet for my liking…. HARRUMP!
G’wan George, …ya durty bleedin stop out. And a big hairy couch nuisance !
Are you going to let the upstairs neighbour visit George from time to time?
George you scamp…..
Delighted he is back home with you.
Cats. They just don’t give a f**k.
