The Return Of George

Remember ‘missing’ George?

He’s in so much trouble

Gavin Fogarty writes:

Even though technically you didn’t find him…Last October you posted about our cat George who had gone missing from Stoneybatter. Yesterday, after being missing for 6 months, he was returned to us!

Turns out he was living with the girl in the apartment two floors above us the WHOLE time. Somehow she missed the posters and flyers in the area, and of course the broadsheet post, and thought he was lost.

Finally got a call from [DSPCA microchip whatsit] Pet Trace this week and we have him home again. Just wanted to say thanks for posting about it, and share a bit of good (albeit relatively unimportant) news.

Wrong. This is why people LOVE cats! How sneaky of George!! Plus how can you be mad at that face…

Delighted you got George back. He’s beautiful! Hope your neighbour now has visitation rights!

..and reason 163 why I like broadsheet, it runs and runs with a story about [redacted] and then it posts about the return of missing cat George.

I want to get my own cat, but I don’t want the responsibility of looking after one for 10+ years, so I’ve started plying the neighbour’s cat with food so it comes and hangs out here, but then make him scoot out the door when I’m bored or have to work to do.

    I guess I’m just a terrible person.

Proof that you never own a cat.
They grace you with their presence.
As long as they deem you worthy.

I’d’a funted him up the arse
      And over the balcony
      And watch him fall
      Back to his own gaff

They should have listened to my advice on the original post…go door to door to all your neighbours and if they’re not in leave a flyer in their post box!

I DID!!! I left TWO leaflets in the letterbox of the apartment he was being kept in. Absolutely NO idea how they were missed!

Anyway, I am really delighted George is back in his rightful abode. I know how upsetting it is when a cat goes missing.
