Meh, first world problems. Try Riyadh….1001 migrant workers and the one random Irish guy squeezing through three lethargic passport control dudes busy Snapchatting on their iPhones. 2 hours on average….
Of course we’re going to look well if we compare ourselves with Saudi, but it’s not exactly a real comparison is it?
What were doing in Saudi – if you working there, presumably you would also count as a ‘migrant worker’?
no, he’s white, so he’s be an expat.
or just a tourist.
those slow civilians taking over from the Gardaí…
Has all the signs of a Wurk Ta’Rule
No voters??
It was the exact same on Saturday evening around 8pm when I flew in and it took 25 minutes to get through. There were just 3 EU passport employees.
What time was that? I pranced through at 9pm in what could only be described as the quickest I’ve ever pranced through.
Is prancing your normal gait? Do you occasionally break out into a full-on strut?
I came back through T2 yesterday around 6:30pm. It was like a ghost town. There were only 2 Gardai at passport control at the time which was all that was needed.

There are machines there now to scan your passport. It looks like a trial…so in good time all this waiting will be no more as machines do the sh1t humans once did.
You need some kind of chip in your passport. I spent ages trying to get it to work then the person working there told me it wouldn’t work with my kind of passport. Walk of shame back to the other queue.
If you mean machine readable passport then yours must be ancient because they’ve been out for years now.
I think my head would explode…..
Bloody Fordinners!
came through at half ten not too bad but for whatever reason it was getting busy. there were three people checking and two very crap machines working
Was the over-taking lane turned off? Seems like a few missed the opportunity to float past giving the middle finger, or perhaps a ‘line w**kers’ passing comment.
Be sure to tone down the scorn as you get to the end though.
You want to be all nicey Miley so as to get into the queue.
The machines only work well when there are lots of them (a la entrance to security in T1) as they are quite slow individually. I only saw four machines at passport control in T1 when passing through last time.
That’s why I think they are being trialled.
Which means DAA are addressing the problem.
Hearing the term “addressing the problem” in the public sphere in Ireland fills me with foreboding
I got through passport control in 30 seconds last night, even though I managed to get stuck between the 2 gates at the passport machine
fat bastard! ;)
Fly Knock always a compliment :) pss my second team-Ireland
