What’s their beef with eating animals? I’m sure if they were to meat one of us carnivores, they’d know there was nothing fishy about us – I’d steak my reputation on it. What’s next, an early prawn raid at a farm?

Liberated apart from their claws being still tied.

When they get over their little rebellions against their wealthy upbringing, these animal rights idiots will be all married and living in Dublin 4 within 10 years, all scoffing down lobster and foie gras.

That’s what I thought so forwarded to the end of the vid, they remove the clips.

I say fair play to them, hate seeing live lobsters in restaurants so avoid any that do.

Unless they were caught in that precise spot in Clontarf which I doubt, it could cause all manner of problems for the local lobster.

      1. munkifisht

Actually it’s a good point. A foolish thing to do and could potentially ruin the local ecology.

And they will probably die fairly sharpishly as the area the left them (long shalllow beach) will be too high in fresh water

Campaigning directly for the welfare of animals in enclosures through the law and government would be the more beneficial route for these activists.
These actions only marginaise their view and cause.

      Good man Jimmy!

I had to bite my lip after reading that :)

When’s the next ‘Born Free’ moment happening… there’s a farm in Wicklow with bison on it… and ostriches too…

Ah here I’m all for animals rights, but “liberating” half a dozen lobsters from a small restaurant is ridiculous. A small business getting blamed for a massive international industry.

If you dont like em, dont eat em (I never, ever have)

    2. jeremy kyle

Don’t kid yourself Jimmy, if a cow ever got the chance he’d eat you and everyone you cared about!

  5. Leaning to the centre

Love the clenched fist and paw raised in solidarity at the start. Has to be a good Paths to Freedom style mini-series in this.

Their black banner looks a bit like an ISIS banner as well. They should head over to Syria to enquer about a collaboration

They are also making the leap that the Lobsters are boiled alive, most chefs briefly stick a lobster in the freezer or stick a sharp knife though its brain, not me though I cool em alive and I can assure they die in about a second.
They don’t even have a nervous system/pain receptors remotely close to mammals

  8. Joe the Lion

When they came for the lobsters I did not speak up

My mouth was full mmm nom nom lobster

Idiots – the lobsters would have either drowned on the mud flats in Clontarf or been pecked alive by seagulls – its not there natural surround. deep water off Howth might have given them a slight chance to survive.

  10. jeremy kyle

Thankfully you all covered your faces in the video when you decided to steal from the restaurant.

there was a grey seal out there the other evening. he’s gonna be on cloud nine when he finds them.

  12. General Lee Nice

Half the group distracted the staff while the other half liberated the seafood in well planned pincer movement.

That Red haired guy used to protest outside labs in TCD. On Tuesdays and school holidays, looks like he’s progressed in his tactics since leaving school. Fairly stupid recording that, surely the EPA would have grounds to investigate, if they are an alien species, that is?

  14. Drogg

Ha I’d like to see them stick their hands in that tank if the lobsters didn’t have bands on their claws. Muppets.

  15. Sapphireluna

Lobsters live on sea beds and rocky harbours sometimes but definitely not in muddy shallow water.
No comments about the way they stole the lobsters from the restaurant but they could at least do some research before releasing them back to the “sea”.
If they really wanted to save them, they should have done it properly.
Their action doesn’t show how much they care about animal rights but instead it shows how childish and lack of planning these people are.
It seems to me that they are just a group of kids who are ignorant about animal care but wanted to do something to prove to their own selves that they are better than the others.
