Ha, ” you’ve been granted what should have been a basic human right all along, be happy, remember to be thankful for that”
    :-)

Very witty Mick :) By the way, I don’t know how long it takes you to do a cartoon, but did you have one done/ or have an idea for one if the No vote won?

Thanks Zara. I did this the night before. I was bullish about a Yes result, so had no plans for a No one.

…if only you had used Fintan O’Toole’s words for your caption…

‘ – This moment is not a gift from Ireland to LGBT community. It’s the other way round. Thanks for making us proud of ourselves again.’

    Really don’t like this.

Agree that the gays should never had to ask for this right to be bestowed on them. It should have been their right just the same as it was for the “hetros” … without asking.

However, since it came to an ask, the country turned out on droves to support the only right and moral choice.

Hinting that they now think that straight people are going to be like dicks about it is vile. It is insulting to gay people making them out to be ungrateful and insulting to hetros making them out of be smug and condescending.

We ALL came together to do an amazing thing. Please can we not shite on it so soon.

…ah relax, it’s a comic, not an opinion piece. (“can gays read comics? Is that one of the signs?”)

It’s a little self aware joke. No offence, but lighten up. You are complaining about a joke on a Web forum during one of the most incredible social moments of our generation.

This cartoon would have been Broadsheet Gold if the plane had written ‘Your Welcome’

Victims in victory, yeahhhhh Broadsheet lets keep the thing rolling on. What would you do for column inches otherwise!!!

  6. Mark Dennehy

YEARS of straight people sitting back sucking their teeth and saying “D’ya remember that day we weren’t c*nts for a change?”

…you know, that’s not the worst thing in the world. Especially if we could convince them that it’d be EVEN BETTER if they did it more than once…

    As if it were possible
    You’ve actually done it Fla

    You’ve out done yerself
