Well would cover Delaneys wages for 10 years, or the League of Ireland’s winner prize for 50!

I knew before today. But don’t let that get in the way of a birra gossip.

Is this being presented as a corruption thing or is this seperate from the corruption thing?

I didn’t know this, and don’t know if it was already out there.
I’m guessing with the FIFA investigations, Blatter stepping down, and the whistle blowers surfacing, there could be a lot of quick confessions from various footballing nations.

Delaney was caught out on a Morning Ireland interview with Gavin, worse for wear I’d say by sound of it after the FIFA doo….he was busily & fairly smugly pontificating about how FIFA, Sepp Blatter was this and that, corruption etc. explaining amongst it all that he survived till now because of the “patronage” he bestowed onto the various football associations…..listen here (@08:10 approx)

yep been unspoken really since the incident….

now what I did not know was that FIFA incorporated a company in Ireland for tax avoidance purposes and who knows what else :)

think champagne days could be over for Johnny but no bother I’m sure he’ll be sorted out with a nice job working for Topazzzzzz

What I can’t understand is that we are only hearing about the payment 5 years after it happened and yet Delaney is slaggin off FIFA for being a cesspool of corruption! Well at least we know the League of Ireland saw none of it!

Would you suck my for €5m? well, yes, I guess…

Would you suck my for €50? wtf do you think I am!?!

So FIFA bought the FAI’s acquiescence?

On what basis is this legitimate? Poor referereeing decisions are a regular occurance. That’s just the way it goes.

A distraction from Denis O’Brien’s bankrolling of the Irish manager. Who cares about FIFA other than the journalists who failed to investigate it because they wouldn’t get freebies no more. I bet Sepp Blatter was all the small talk at Bill O’Herlihy’s graveside.

  8. Just sayin'

“When asked if he had ever been offered a bribe, Delaney laughed: “No, not on my salary.””

Is he actually admitting here that he’s paid too much to be bothered with bribes? He’s like the sporting world’s version of Bertie Ahern- you just know he’s dodgy but its remarkably tricky to nail him down.
