Composer James Horner
“James Horner, the Hollywood composer who wrote the Oscar-winning score for Titanic, has died in a California plane crash aged 61. A trained pilot, he is reported to have been alone aboard a small private plane which crashed north of Santa Barbara on Monday morning. The musician worked on three James Cameron films, as well as A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Troy and Apollo 13.”

A supreme talent and a massive loss. Such a shame that plenty of lazy media outlets will probably just play Celine Dion’s Titanic dirge as an ill-advised tribute to the man

Well, considering his heart did not, in fact, go on it may be a little ill advised.
What?
The soundtrack to Aliens is my personal favourite, such atmosphere added to that film because of his work.
Such a shame, rest in peace.
His only acting credit is for Star Trek: Wrath of Khan as an Enterprise Crewman.
