Solidarity is a nice word but not when you’re a former Young Fine Gael chair. pic.twitter.com/3RbOoz2MO5

.@wearerabble Ah yes, Rabble. There’s a reason you’re non-profit. You wouldn’t sell a single issue of your rag. — Dale McDermott (@dalemcdermott) June 30, 2015
FIGHT!

Greece should be allowed to leave the Euro, Europe should cut its losses, let Greece establish a new currency and then help them by means of standard EU measures, as per Bulgaria and Romania.
That sounds very drachmatic
euro-nly an oul chancer wit dem puns..
wit dem punts…
Is there not a feta way?
To abZorba the Greek pain?
Given the job losses in the taramasalata, hummus and guacamole industries, are we seeing a triple-dip recession?
Of Kos we are.
olive you know it was all their fault.
You taking the Mykonos?
More this Crete
Dale McMail more like
Burn.
Really? I thought it was classic playing the man rather than the ball.
Indeed. Rabble would have come out of this a lot better if they had actually given a decent response to the question rather then just attack the questioner. It just makes them look as if they don’t actually have an answer.
Which? The Rabble bit or the response?
The Rabble bit (though your man’s response wasn’t exactly Voltaire, either).
Better off ignoring characters like this McDermott fella.
He makes a fair point but of couse the rabble attack the person. This is the same crowd that thought Gardai were wearing topaz badges.
No it’s not.
Didn’t others in commenting make that rather silly assumption? I think people involved with rabble know it’s a badge connected to a contract the police in Ireland have with *redacted* Topaz garages, it’s been like that for years.
On his ‘fair point’, he is economically-right wing, right? He’s pretty open about it and thoroughly follows the final line of the troika european ‘leaders’, who in an amazing act of what should have been widely recognised as total self-defeat, have effectively and totally shattered the illusion that the ECB is an independent and democratic body. I think pulling the official line of these lunatics isn’t real a fair point. In fact, the very first thing he can think of is not to tax super-wealthy people or at least harmonise taxes so that the hardest working, hardest hit and most dispossessed are not paying a disproportionate amount of taxes compared to very wealthy people, he opts immediately for welfare, health and education cuts. I personally think he’s a psycho, it would have been better to give him no platform at all.
Greece can’t and never should have been expected to pay for playboys losses, neither should Ireland. I for one have had enough of these rich freeloading wasters.
This. Good Bobby.
Really?? This event exists? #irelanstandswithgreece? Do we f**k! You’re on your own mate.
Get back to licking Enda’s ass there…. mate.
You’re clearly an idiot. … ‘mate’.
…you have to have a sneaking regard for the blueshirt youf…they seem to have a standing army of apparatchiks ready to troll any forum – especially Broadsheet.
Why? Any pig can line up at a trough
I would guess McDermott is a giddy fool who watches too much Apprentice. I’d never hire such a mouthy twit.
this will be in a future life where you are more motivated and actually have a job?
I’m an employer you little YFG troll.
Now, pet, giving your kids pocket money for errands doesn’t make you an employer.

Genuine LOL
I can’t even begin to soak up the stupidity of his statement- where do we want to cut this money out of? It’s already gone, fool! It was already cut out, has he not been keeping up with current events the past 7 years?!? Does he think NOW it’s going to be given to Greece, as a parting gift?
Christ almighty.
Normally, with a loan, one expects to get the money back. That’s the whole point.
Anyone expecting to get that money back was a fool and deserves the loss.
Giving loans to repay loans to repay loans – always a sound investment. Still expecting to be repaid when the borrowers debt to GDP has almost doubled since the first tranche?
Have the ECB buy up the debt, we get the money back, then the ECB can extend it for 100 years, sorted.
We have a central bank in Europe, let’s use it finally. No one deserves to go hungry for imaginary money.
This.
Who is the naked fat man in his Twitter avatar?
Jonotti makes a good point.
This guy, whoever he is , makes voices an opinion and these arseholes just play the man and not the ball.
Bit like the more militant on here. Also a perfect example of why twitter is such a piece of crap.
Ah yes, the guy, whoever he is. I’d wager he spends quite a lot of time posting in here.
Is it you Fergus?
You can admit it, you’re among … people.
rotide you need your meds…
Has anyone sound ever gone into politics?
Simon Harris. He’s completely trustworthy and non synthetic.
Look at all little Fine Gael Bots coming on making snarky little comments.
People have a different opinion to be, that means that they are obviously FG/Shinner/Iona/IW/Anti-IW/whatever Bots!
Grow up.
Too late. Mr. T has already gone Full Jim Corr long ago.
I blame it on the stress of dealing with his legion of employees.
McDermott’s twitter feed is chock full of gold

presumably dale mcdermott is blissfully unaware that the debt writedown his beloved fine gael gave to [REDACTED] comes to a hell of a lot more than €500 million.
I don’t always think things through either.
Maybe I should join FG.
There’s nothing more depressing than a young conservative.
aah any excuse:
https://youtu.be/9oQ_tbf6j2A
the only thing more depressing than a young conservative is an old socialist, dahling
And Ireland’s legacy debt is somewhere around the €30 billion mark so if there is a EU debt conference that wipes away the €315 million [not €500 million as the FGer says] , by that reckoning we’ll be €29.675 billion up on the game.
Yup if we told the bondholders in Anglo to go Fupp themselves with a burning hedgehog on a stick, we’d be a lot better off.
Also, as Quinn boasted ‘we’ll make some money out of this’ when borrowing money, just to lend it to Greece at a higher rate… what a dumb and unprincipled idea that was. No better than the gobshites running Anglo.
Halfway there!
Didn’t see YFG complaining when Denis O’Brien got a write off of 660 million. And that’s what we know of.
+1.25%
SO MR T IS AN EMPLOYER?
WAH WAH ! Bosses are evil!
Great, now I can spend the rest of my voting life telling everyone I know never to vote for this ‘Yes’ man.
We want politicians who think for themselves Dale. Troika is not your Flash Gordon, it’s the countries Ming !
