Construction is definitely picking up at the moment. Lots of new projects have started and are due to start in the next year. Biggest problem will be having the labour to do the work, and then trying to house the labour force if people start coming back from abroad.

Biggest problem we’re going to have is infrastructure.
Lots of money in building houses, not so much in upgrading the roads, power supply, water to support the new population.

Well a lot of the work is in existing plots. Buildings being demolished and then rebuilt, or refurbs. Lots of work being done around D2.

Lots of very small 4-6 story or so apartment blocks/offices being built on small vacant plots dotted around, I wouldn’t get overly excited
Arguably the ugliest “monument” in the world: a giant needle in the centre of a city with a drugs problem. A “monument” that’s cleaned regularly to the tune of millions (all taxpayers’ money), while the monument of Daniel O’Connell stands neglected, the head dripping with bird droppings.

Dunno, but I got a letter from Bank of Ireland this week telling me about their marvellous ‘cashback’ offer on mortgages, so that if you borrow €200K, you’ll get 4K back from them, to do with as you wish. They don’t mention that you’ll be paying that back for 25 years as well, mind, and that if you’re that hard up for money to furnish a gaff, you’d be better off going to the credit union.
The letter also alludes to re-mortgaging, equity releases and second mortgages, so I reckon the banks reckon we’re back anyway…

Got the same… recycle binned it!
If people fall for the same damn BS this time round, then it’s their own fault.
