Imagine we had leaders that spoke with the conviction of Greek PM Alexis Tsipras. Using witchcraft I’ve transplanted Tsipras’ tweets on to our own dear leaders.

    We’re not being bled dry.
    We’re doing fairly well actually.

    So this just looks stupid.

      :)

I’m so so glad you’re here to speak for all of us

(or at least those at blueshirt HQ in any case, eh?)

We’re not all suffering equally, but there have been serious cuts, and unemployment would be much worse if not for the emigration.
Many of my clients went out of business in 2009 and 2010 and 5 years later some of them are still scraping by.

Thanks for speaking up-I was worried that our ‘recovery’ wouldn’t be mentioned and everyone would think we’re still in the toilet saddled with billions of euro of debt and also a gombeen leader who seems to operated by remote control from Berlin.

In fairness our banks are open & we don’t have to buy non-perishable foods en masses.

We’re not perfect but I’d rather where we are than have Tspiras – who has overplayed his hand playing politics.

Above is absolute rubbishology. No point speaking with conviction when your policies are pseudo communist anti-democratic babble. Far easier to be a populist than be a politician that gets something done.

If those were ever posted then even Fidelma would twig that someone had tampered with the Whiffy Code and fraped them on Twitter.

“Yanis Varoufakis accuses creditors of terrorism ahead of Greek referendum”

Broadsheet has completely lost its collective mind. The Greek leadership are a laughing stock. They’ve driven their country into the ground in five short months and there is worse to come.

  6. Shinnerbot

This is daft. Broadsheet should do well to remember the warning to all twitter users: think before you tweet

Thank Christ we don’t have leaders like the students union that is now in control in Greece. Harsh but correct decisions made here have put us well on the road to recovery.

Would like to know that too. It’s for a deal that no longer exists. Absolute amateurs running things there now.
EU negotiators should never have boxed them into this corner either.

there’s no comparison to the austerity that the Greek people have suffered and the “austerity” that some people believe is being implemented here – any rational take on our economy would come to the conclusion that this government is anti-austerity, we have borrowed and continue to borrow billions to sustain spending in health, education, social welfare and pensions – that is not to say that some people have not suffered
