right so, i’m gonna bring my 1 year old into work with me and say that joanne tuffy says it’s ok. i imagine i’ll get a few hours done when it’s her sleepy time.

Jokes on you. She’ll probably just go back to her teaching job until its time to collect her 2 pensions. She’s Labour. Don’t tell me she’s not from a teaching background.

So she has her 10-year old in Leinster House today? Sitting beside her? Has she not seen the crowd control measures being installed outside?
And of course she’s so busy, at work whilst minding her 10-year-old, that she also has time to tweet.

…in fairness, I don’t think even Brian Lucey would describe a tiff with ‘friend of israel’ Tuffy as epic…

Err no, twasnt. Not in the slightest. I was interested to know if there were any official figures on the number of LP’s who would be better / worse off from these changes (no, there arent) and then it all got …weird. Oh well.

So if a lone parent works in a busy restaurant or bar during the day or night they are aloud to bring their children to work. Don’t think that’s very safe. Hot food and adults under the influence very safe for kids

Sandra Ni Dhubhda is one of those annoying people who probably says “citation needed” or “have you a link to back that up”

    1. Nially

Or, like, one of those people who challenges a wild assertion with a fairly reasonable counter-argument. And in fairness, “citation needed” would be a fairly acceptable answer to a TD making broad declarations about childcare policy in a public forum.

I don’t know how Brian Lucey finds the time to be so smug and prolific on twitter and raise a child.

Probably her 10yo is making all decisions for her. Thats why they wanted to lower the presidential age to 21. Her child would already have 11years of political experience :-)

Labour have lost me. I’ve only ever voted labour. They could at least pretend not to be adapting Varakanomics.
I’ve always argued, politely in the face of anger, things would be so much worse without them. I am doubtful of that after the past few disclosures of what’s goin through some heads at that party.
    Prove me wrong Labour. Please.

Labour should just leave government now cause a GE and fupp off back to what ever hole they crawled out of.

I’d be pretty pissed off if my employer let people bring all their kids into work.

    Thankfully it’s not the case.

Leinster House is clearly an example of what other employers in the country should be like, we should thank them for setting a good example, to the rest, who are sadly concerned about health and safety regulations and employers/public liability.
Ireland is supposed to be an equal opportunity country, why doesn’t the government pass laws making it compulsory to set up a creché at workplaces, after all its supposed to be a great little country to do business in.

    Bring the kids to work?
Tuffy is clearly on another planet, as well as being unable to spell. Firstly, insurance…secondly, the workplace is not safe, and thirdly, productivity. Look at what happens when someone brings their new baby in…the cooing goes on for hours.

    1. Joe the Lion

Yes but if it was commonplace that would abate

It’s a thing now apparently to bring kids to work

      1. Spaghetti Hoop

Well, it’ll take one libellous or fatal incident before legislation is hurriedly drafted.

Then again…their fingers could polish the inside of shell metal casings…..

          1. Spaghetti Hoop

Hard to believe there’s anything left to polish with the daily attention you give to the task……

“at a time when they would normally be on maternity leave” – yeah that’s the bit that jumped out at me.

But yes, I still think it’s a mad idea.
