What you may need to know:

1. Comic Con came and went. It left behind many trailers. Some that the film distributors wanted you to see and some that they didn’t. Warner Brothers released this trailer, rather begrudgingly, after it leaked online.

2. Doesn’t Will Smith look typically unscary.

3. Captain Boomerang. Snigger.

4. Jared Leto takes on the Joker role. Fair play in fairness.

5. David Ayer directs, promising to stay very faithful to the source material. Which is great. If you like the source material.

6. Sure something has to be done with all those defeated supervillains.

7. Broadsheet Prognosis: The long con

8. Release Date: August 5, 2016

As a concept it’s weak. But if they sell it as a ‘led astray’ version of Guardians of the Galaxy, who knows.

As a concept it’s great, actually – The Dirty Dozen With Superpowers. It’s been around for a while, and there are some pretty great comics, particularly John Ostrander’s run. Obviously, this could be poo, but it’s a first, mood-setting trailer. There’s be a more slam-bang one along directly, probably.

Whatever about this, Batman V Superman will have Batman and Superman in it. This has a literal ‘who’s who?’ rouges gallery.

Looks like this also has Batman in it.

Batman V Superman will also have Wonder Woman and possibly the Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern.

Could go one way or the other really. Just glad to have contributed to this discussion

Jared Leto is an insatiable twit. Christ if he dies soon, the worlds gonna go all Heath Ledger on him.

I’m slightly disappointed she doesn’t have the ‘Mistah Jay’ Noo Yoik accent. Arleen Sorkin did great work in that 90s Batman cartoon.
