It did have a good beer garden. But it’s been bought now si hopefully it’s opened as a pub again.

Used the work in the Digital Hub, that McGruders used to be jammers at lunch , was surprised it closed when it did…

The one on Exchange Lower in Temple Bar, that site looks terrible but it is where youre supposed to be able to view the old wall of Dublin. Someone has painted over the bits that you could see through.
So I dont think you can ever get planning permission for there unless you somehow preserve it.

It’s not owned by Mannix Flynn, though he did have an art installation in it. Owned by another Dublin character, with a decent record of urban regeneration elsewhere. No idea what he plans on using this space for though, he’s owned it for years.

They painted over the bits you could see through to save your eyes from having to see junkies injecting their scrotums. It’s like a leper colony in there every day from 7pm onwards. And it’s why the apartments on Blind Quay all have bars on their back windows now.

verminous fat-fingered speculators be speculatin’ – contributing nothing, absolutely nothing, like a city cancer. slowly eating away at the place, creating dead spaces were there should be sustainable life and activity befitting a capital city. Great country to do business in though.

    Dee 8 is ripe for a make-over.

I bet within a few years, some twat Indo property journo will call it Dublin’s Shoreditch.

Pretty sure the Temple bar one is earmarked for development by DCC and a process is in place to build affordable units.

Believe it or not the site on Ushers St in partially in use. The two red brick houses are derelict but though the building on the left is in bits with plants growing on it there is actually a printers in it!

Wasn’t legislation passed recently/is making its way through the Dail for councils to be able to levy a ‘use it or lose it’ tax on derelict sites?

Of course that would require councils having a spine, but it’s hope.
