it’s not explicitly stated but I think it’s not unreasonable to infer from the comment. would it please you if Lisa said unhappy instead..

It’d probably be more appropriate, yeah. I don’t know, nor am I speaking for Kevin O’Dea, but the comment as posted and read is fairly observational, as is the subject – a news website anomalously using a picture of Dublin to illustrate an article about British government policy.

Lisa’s right in that the TOPIC of the article should rightly engender strong emotions, but in my opinion, that’s not what Kevin O’Dea or Broadsheet themselves are tilting at – this post is about the anomaly of photo and article. And, in that same opinion, she’s completely skewing the narrative of the post by suggesting that ANYONE should be enraged about it. Neither Broadsheet or Kevin O’Dea have said that we should be.

And in a culture where people are increasingly desperate for things to find offence over and sound off about online, I wouldn’t call my original question to Lisa #anal at all.

I’d take Tory Britain over Putin’s Russia any day. RT is just odious propaganda. Hateful channel.

Is that because you don’t have to starve on the streets in Tory Britain?. Just join their army and take out your frustrations on johnny foreigner as you parttake in one the UK’s illegal occupations.

No such ‘jolly good fun’ in Putin’s Russia, eh, what?

The English Crown never left this Island; they just hide in plain sight. Witness the Hobbit in the Park.

Oh I’ve been meaning to get to that but they keep citing bad weather and high winds for not erecting the big screen.

I’d love to see how Tory/Libdem cuts over the last 5 years stack up against FG/Labour in terms of progressivity, fairness

‘A rose by any other name…’ me ar$e.

The UK was in a much less dire economic situation than we were to start with.
Also the Tories have been far more proactive in terms of pushing right-wing reforms whereas FG/Lab haven’t had the heart to reform diddly squat in any way.

It is quite typical that UK policy veers too far in different directions as new ministers/govts assume their roles but Irish policy seems to remain more or less unchanged no matter what happens.

    Lazy photo editor.

I saw an article on an Irish news website with a generic American cop car stock image where a Garda car generic stock image should have been.
