I didn’t notice either, but according to the Hollywood reporter the interview was meant to go on for 15 minutes.

I think the title needs to be rephrased to interview cut short – we always like to find the local angle in Ireland

Pointless, this. He wasn’t cut short. He said his thing and spoke on for another few minutes. Then it was apparent the programme ended as the presenters said goodbye. Not even on RT either. Literally in this case, nothing to see here.

Yeah, maybe. The presenters interruption and close seemed very abrupt and unexpected (even by them). Time elapsed since his comment seemed just long enough for an angry phonecard from upstairs….or further up.

Or perhaps it was, genuinely nothing.

Weak attempt to paint Russia as some totalitarian/fascist state. If a Hollywood director went on some US Network morning show and started speaking out in favour of Edward Snowden/Chelsea Manning (none of them ever would) they’d be shut down in two seconds.

Fine, but this story however is a ‘weak attempt’. The thing alleged doesn’t actually happen here.

I was referring to the comparison to the U.S. TV news but yeah you got me there. Thanks for pointing that out.

No Hollywood actor or director would dare bring up Snowden, Manning or Gaza on US TV. This post is very naive.

I can’t remember a clip of some mainstream Hollywood Actor/Director mentioning these names out of context on a US Network morning chat shows.

Kinda besides the point here. They don’t stop hiom saying what he said and the interview continues.

Ah he spoke on for a good 2 minutes after mentioning the jailed director. I doubt it was ended early cos of this.

Didn’t see him getting cut of after he made the comment. He wasn’t even pulled for making the comment and allowed to continue talking a a good few minutes after that. If it was RTÉ, the would have pulled him on it and tried to gag him on legal grounds, telling him not to say it again or he would be of the air.

As for being Ukranian, that’s western puppet state run by fascists locks up and deports plenty of Russian journalist.
