The U2 website tonight.

It moves in mysterious ways.

happened to be on the u2 website actually for a completely different reason but out of curiosity had a look at the tour dates…was surprised to see a Belfast date listed but on a refresh the date vanished…then this (above) showed 5 mins later seems this is probably their planned Belfast & Dublin dates…Point Depot too ugh…

Pay yer taxes ye globalist lizard poxbottles (except Adam).

It’s confirmed. For diehard fans it’s big news but for everyone else U2 have now become what Bono always feared – irrelevant. I genuinely keep forgetting they actually released an album last year. I can barely even remember any singles they released apart from that one about Joey Ramone. They were great circa Achtung Baby but now they’re creatively spent. They should have done an REM – split when they knew the game was up.

I agree with Mr Blenkinsop. I’m of the view the rot for REM set in in and around that terrible record with What’s the Frequency Kenneth on it ( I can’t even remember the name of it). While the Automatic for the People record had some hits overall I felt it was less successful as a complete body of work than the pre-Green efforts ( and Green itself).

As for U2 they were never relevant.

Yes, but have you observed the tastes of the crude masses? Striking a bell with those happy clapping idiots is hardly a gauge of greatness. I’ll take my top hat and monocle and bid you a good day, sir

It was Monster and I feel it was after this record that it all started to go pear shaped apart from a few good songs

I prefer my music with a dollop of soul , Repro. A strutting, prancing , reedy voiced oompa loompa does not qualify. Hums at desk to “At my most Beautiful” (at Jools Holland), curls lip and sniffs at Bertie for disturbing the mood.

      Wait, wasn’t that post-Monster REM?
People are going to be confused!

“Up” had a few good songs, that one being the best.
      Never “Lotus” though…..NEVER.
