A Carriage Made In Heaven

This morning.

Conor writes:

There were considerable disruptions this morning on the 11:25 Dublin to Galway train departing from Heuston, where commuters were met with deafening, off key roars in carriage D.
Apparently two gangs, the Irish hens and the English stags, had been planning this musical battle for months. Dressed in an orange suit, a stag opened the English campaign with a howling rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone‘ which was met by the feather boa- wearing mother of the bride (above in aisle) with a version of ‘The Fields of Athenry’. A mass evacuation of distressed passengers took place in Portarlington. More as a I get it.

Stag ‘n’ Hen trains?

Anyone?

Not surprising…. the really, really “good” Catholics don’t do ‘stag n hen’ nights, what with all the cavorting and potential for baby making outside of marriage an’ all.

You’d be best to avert your eyes from the scenes of debauchery, and don’t forget to feel guilty for having glanced in their direction, just for good measure.

      Funny Clampers.

I just meant I didn’t get the weird story that Conor had weaved around the events.

So…. a Dublin to Galway, Friday morning train has a load of rowdy bowsies on it drinking and singing.

Do you travel by train much of a Friday at all?
    Kilkenny train is the same.

No doubt ‘Summertime’ and ‘Amarillo’ will be sung too. Good knack songs those, loads of “Weeeooo, wha” and bingo wings.

Bandwagon jumping alickadoos are titmonks of the same stripe as Menopausal Barbie on the Galway train.

No good can EVER come of bringing mother of the bride to any of these shindigs – temptation for these oul’ blades to act out/compete with the young wans is impossible for these fading limelight hogs to resist.
