The guards would be unlikely to walk from the Square to the Home Bakery for doughnuts, unless a Rocky Road from the more convenient McNamee’s was more to their liking. They were more likely parked up there for access to the courthouse. JP, if you knew better, you’d do better.

Panama is just across the road, Barry’s cafe is about 4 doors down. There is also a fair bit of parking around there in fairness, so if they’re not out on a job this is a bit of a pisstake.
“Pigs ate my donuts and paid in cash” says irate cafe owner
Whatever next finishing work on time?

It’s do with the fact that they have abused their position as guards and parked like pricks while on their lunch break.

Fugg all perks being a peeler now that they can’t conceal their numbers and beat the bejayzus out of a bunch of neds – let’s leave ’em the scant consolation of a sweet, pavement park job.

Yes it’s best they’re all in having lunch and not hear a call come over the radio.
Yes it’s best they all not eat lunch and collapse from exhaustion on the job
Yes it’s best we take “JP”‘s word for this that the Guards were eating and not on a call
Yes it’s best we ignore the dog poo on the path which I think frames the picture nicely

Leaves not poo.

Holy God! thats the ugliest pavement I have ever seen…… Honestly whoever picked that style needs to be sacked…..
Slightly Bemused
It’s a barcode to be scanned by the aliens when they come. At least they will know where to get fresh doughnuts…

the posts here are getting worse.
are you going to introduce a licence fee like RTE…the content is as bad!
may I suggest boards.ie for the discerning viewer or if you are in any way challenged thejournal.ie

I actually think internet posting is bad for people.
I used to spend way too much time on boards.ie when I was on the scratch and saw a lot of poster,s who started out as really funny and witty and hilarious, turn into little else but serial moaners cribbing about this and that and how awful everything was.
I got a little like that myself so I quit.
You can see it here a little too. Even the eternally happy Clampers is finding it hard to see the good in things these days :(
Let’s all take a break and concentrate on our jobs!

You missed the glory days of boards.ie.
It really was better in the old days. (pre 2005)

@ EarthwormJim ;
It’s not the Internet that does that to you, trust me.
Take me for example:
I’m as sane now as I was when we were all on Dial=Up. The Internet hasn’t affected me in any way.
I get drunk and talk to strangers.
When there’s no strangers around I talk to myself.
Only difference is that nowadays I can turn the heating up and do it wearing ladies underwear.
I’m still the same person.

It’s a thundering disgrace.

Sorry, the point of this post is?

It pisses off the people who hate everything anyway

The content of the photo that is, the post itself is a mild irritation to some of the rest of us.

I love seeing the Gardai being human, it kinda leaves room for us.

Ugh that picture of Dundalk is what I imagine Morrissey sees when he closes his eyes.
some old queen
This “gorgeous” paving and fountain in front of the court house cost crazy money. It’s now spreading to Newry. Maybe someone could do an F.O.I.?
Meanwhile Clanbrassil Street still looks like something out of the third world. Let’s not question the family business called Dundalk Council eh?
But on the up side Clanbrassil Street has a Chinese shop which does great Sushi. Economic immigrants. They’re from Phisboro in Dublin apparently.
If I lived in Dundalk I wouldn’t leave a car unattended either.

Gardaí are obliged to park any marked vehicle in clear sight at all time both for security of the vehicle and quick access in the event of an emergency call coming in. Including, God forbid, when they have to eat at some point in their 10 hour shift. .
