And the occasional piercing.

No harm.

Earlier this month the ‘Dublin Tattoo Convention‘ was held at The Red Cow Inn. After a few emails and some arm twisting, I managed to secure a tiny corner of the room where I could set up a makeshift studio. Surely there had to be some very interesting characters attending? I was not disappointed….

    Interesting looking characters indeed.
…But you didn’t interview any of them. I was disappointed.

I went last year to that convention. Within five minutes, some big lad dropped his trousers in front of me.

To my relief he was getting ready to show off his massive, brilliantly done and coloured tattoo of Marvel characters down the side, front and back of his thigh – Hulk, Iron Man and Thor – I think.

Admittedly, it looked great….. but if it were on my leg, it’d look out of focus pretty quick after my hairy legs grow right back over it :)

Well worth a look in, next yr, for an afternoon if you’re into the tats.

As AA Gill says, his family have three house rules. No tattoos, no motorbikes, no heroin. The heroin is negotiable. He has a point.

Sounds like you know more than I do about tattoos Digs.
-What is your opinion on Tattoo Artists? What are they?

I reckon the ever unhappy Digs knows nothing about everything. Too much time spent tripping up in empty buildings looking for a life.

Go easy on him Charlie, it could be worse…
He could be living his life tripping over empty buildings looking for digs.

        You two should squat together.

I find it odd that its the people who know the least about art and are most hostile towards art are the ones willing to have a piece of it put on their body forever……
