UTV reports:

A family whose home was petrol bombed in Ballymena overnight believe the attack was motivated by Islamophobia.

The missile was thrown through the window of a house in the Kintyre Park area of the Ballykeel estate at around 1am on Tuesday.

The front room of the home was set on fire but the four family members inside were able to extinguish the flames and were not hurt.

The least surprising turn of events ever.

Who would have thought this could happen in tolerant , peace loving norn iron.

Disgraceful treatment of this poor family – it’s bad enough the province suffers from a catholic/protestant hatred among a tiny minority so I suppose it’s hardly surprising these idiots turn on muslims as well.

Meanwhile an excellent speech last night in Basingstoke from the prescient Nigel Farage who was roundly abused earlier this year for warning of the threat of jihadists infiltrating the tsunami of refugees flooding into Europe.

Would those be the same refugees fleeing the jihadists? Farage is a racist moron, none of his arguments are motivated by anything other than racism.

Farage is a champion of nation’s retaining their sovereignty and the right to govern themselves.
The Irish, however, prefer to be ruled by someone else – they always have because on the whole they’re too lazy and feckless to do it themselves.
It’s why this country’s mouth is firmly attached to the teat of Frau Merkel.
        Get off your knees …

We’re not going to agree here. I don’t particularly want to waste more time with someone who sees Farage as a champion of anything.

If it wasn’t for Farage the UK wouldn’t have a choice at the forthcoming referendum on whether to leave the EU.
Of course Ireland made it’s choice clear – then changed its mind within a year after threats from a French midget.
The Fighting Irish me arse – you hopped up on Merkel’s lap like a good little doggy and rolled over to have your tummy tickled.

        “Farage is a racist moron”

You ever see that video of him being grilled about his wife? Comedy gold.
        To paraphrase;
        ‘Fur’nurs are taking British jobs’
‘Doesn’t your German wife work for you?’
‘Yeah but nobody else would be capable of doing that job.’
‘So no Brits are capable of being your assistant?’
        ‘Fur’nurs!’

        He’s a clown.

“threat of jihadists infiltrating the tsunami of refugees flooding into Europe.”

And yet all those identified with involvement in the Paris attacks were French nationals. Damn facts getting in the way of a good old incitment to hatred.

So many people just love to hate. They seek out opportunities to demonstrate this. The human race makes me sad. I rather naively thought we were making progress as a species for a while once :(

I didn’t say that I got my news exclusively from Broadsheet. You did.
            Do try to keep up.

Put a bow on that and send it over here Charley it’s all I want this Christmas.

Funny to read comments by people associating these criminal actions with the entire peace-loving majority that exists in the north. ie, behaving in exactly the same red-neck reactionary way the criminals probably did.

      1. rotide

I don’t think people are tarring everyone with the same brush. Just commenting that they have a history of similar up there.

Much in the same way that Irish people tried to distance themselves from the IRA atrocities in the 70s and 80s despite (justified) widespread hatred in the UK, Muslims face the same struggle today. I remember people from both sides condemning IRA/UVF violence – unfortunately they could barely get the words out before the next one came along.

I’m sure we’ll be able to dig up some similar bigotry in the Republic of Ireland but for the time being let’s keep slagging the nordies, it’s easier.

One asocial feral with easily accessible petrol, bottle and probably too much time on his hands, does not make an entire nation of people racist. Although in Nothen Aghland there seems to be a cohort of people who think the world gives a sh1t about their identity crisis and flegs.

one family gets a brick thrown through window by scrotes, oh yeah thats major world news, considering the mayhem going on elsewhere.

I`m not but how quickly you all impugn everyone up there.
bunch of know it all mean girls on here.

          2. Weldoninhio

Calling someone out on whataboutery, when the entire story is based on whataboutary. Hilarious.

“A family whose home was petrol bombed in Ballymena overnight believe the attack was motivated by Islamophobia.” – No mention of evidence, no mention of previous threats against their religious beliefs. No mention of a police line of enquiry, just the family believing that it was motivated by hate. Could have been a random attack, could have been the wrong address targetted.
