They’re hardly going to heed that nicely organised light display when they don’t heed the red traffic variety.

Let’s not see tram lines as something negative, all you need is a set of stabilisers on your bike and a tram line in the direction of your house, and you could cycle home drunk this xmas season.

At the moment, due to the temporary traffic limiting barricades, there is only about 2 feet of 1 of the 2 tram rails on the roadway that could assault a cyclist. It starts in the middle of nowhere and curves ever so slightly towards the barricades.

Hardly deserves a sign of that magnitude. Health and safety eh.

There are plenty other far more dangerous road surfaces for cyclists all over the city. But there’s no over-regulated private contractor responsible, just the council.

Having ranted, can I just commend the council for the resurfacing going on at the moment on Dorset St. Its well needed and makes cycling north just a dream compared to the bumpy wheel buckling nightmare that it was.

They probably put this up after a friend of mine had a nasty crash due to that aforementioned “2 feet” of tram tracks, which until now was un-signposted. Luas tracks and bike wheels really don’t mix — this was extremely dangerous.

pulling away from a green light last night, a cyclist pulled across and slammed into my bonnet. Blamed me even though they broke a red light, didn’t have a single light on the bike, no helmet and wearing dark clothes and just come flying off the footpath. Thankfully 2 girls had spotted her doing so and backed me up. It’s was absolutely idiotic and it’s people like her that give decent cyclists a bad name

I love these ones. When the idiot gets up and not a hi-viz or light or anything for night cycling in sight yet rips into the driver :)
Last time I did anything similar as a cyclist (many moons ago thankfully), crashing at nite without lights like… I dutifully cowered my head in embarrassment and took the ear bashing at not having anything for cycling at night.

Why any TOOL thinks they can let rip at a car driver when they themselves have no precautions taken is beyond me. Spanners of the highest order biy!

      I hear ya.
The latest thing now are motorists driving without lights. Especially prevalent after the clocks change. Dopes.
