The Vitrine Project by Dublin based creative agency In the Company of Huskies for ID2015. To wit:

For one day only, we placed everyday items and street furniture in museum-style vitrines around Dublin city centre, encouraging people to rethink what design is, and what impact it has on everyday life.

The Liminal exhibition runs at the ID2015 Design Hub, Dublin Castle from November 20th to December 30th, 2015.

    How about humans?
    Designed or Evolved?
Stick one in a glass box and let the people of Dublin decide.

    In the company of beards.

In the company of fixies which are left inside the office for edgy effect.

In the company of people who NEVER order a latte.

As much I’d love to slag this off, I’m up for anything that promotes the understanding of design among the ‘Eagles on the Gateposts’ Irish. We don’t appreciate design in this country. Everyone wants brands but few understand good design.

Who cares if the public understand design?
Why should anyone really even care if some self important bro thinks he is changing the world by designing a label for a bag of peanuts.

      FYI Eagles are AWESOME.

The only thing I understand about “Design” is that good design is a mix of function and form which makes people happy.

The shape of a VW Beetle, the room to put your finger under the chocolate in a box of chocolates so you don’t end up tipping the lot over your head. Gargoyles on an old Church, the Sydney Opera House “toilet seat” acoustic system, the Bakelite phone (but not in orange or green), the egg chair, a sturdy hammock strung between 2 trees, a country road that is a green tunnel of ancient green-leafed trees, the Alessi Agata teapot, the book of Kells, Georgian front doors and my own personal favourite … a 1969 Lotus Elan like this bueat here:
