Well saves you walking down and trying to open the gate. A huge sign at the top of Croke Patrick saying ‘The climb is very difficult and takes ages’ would save a lot of people the bother.
My favourite signs are those that say nothing but “Temporary Sign”. So existential.
Saves you walking up to it and giving it an oul pull to see if it open. The time that sign saved you is priceless…
