It’s the photo that alarms me. How many photos do you think they took before they settled on that one?
Haha!
I think he was going for a thousand yard stare. Instead it looks like, “Wha are you lookin ah?”
Any zimmos, bud?
The Abbey St Stare
he looks like brick top from the movie ‘snatch’. do not, under any circumstances visit a pig-farm with christy burke.
Wise words indeed
They nearly went with ‘The Dublin Don’.
He’s had a billboard up for weeks.
I’d say at least three of those Avril Power pictures have been photoshopped.
I don’t fully understand what his slogan ‘one of our own’ means.
Dublin Central is the most ethnically diverse constituency in the country.
Who are his ‘own’?
His own are people that live in Dublin Central. He’s from there and he represents them.
Fairly straightforward.
its sure is .
but that won’t stop the smug know-all thinking they know more than the common man.
His own are people that live in Dublin Central. He’s from there and he represents them.
Every candidate in Dublin Central lives there to the best of my knowledge.
All the main candidates bar Mary Lou McDonald are born and raised there.
But, one third of the people living in Dublin Central are non-nationals.
Are they part of Christy’s “own”?
If they’ve ever been tax payers then yes they are.
Why only taxpayers?
Yeah, I’d say so.
What are trying to dig at?
Where did I say only?
It is a forumlation which is “us” against “them”.
It reminds me of the anti-imigrant rhetoric in the UK, France or the States.
A-ha! Now I see. You’re calling him a racist because you construe a fairly clear community-based statement as racist.
Thanks for confirming.
To the keyboard warriors racism is nothing to do with the poster wording he represents all. Black white yellow. Whatever. Don’t always. Be looking for something that is not there
im not sure its true that every Dublin Central candidate lives there
similar issue in 2015 that that an FG’er had to apologise for for suggestion it was racists http://www.thejournal.ie/castleknock-councillor-delighted-with-apology-1752960-Oct2014/ its really localists (which might be slightly worse in a genreal election)
One of us, One of us. Gooble Gobble. One of us.
Taxi driver chic!
My favourite quote of Christy’s when he was inconvenienced by Apple Corp…
(oops) It went….
“I tried to cross the bridge myself on the way back from a Bonnie Baby competition on Sherriff Street when I was blocked.”
