    Joan is a terrible speaker.

Can she even finish one sentence with our putting in a “eh… eh…” every few words?

Oh, and nobody cares about your personal life story, they prefer their own personal life story and how the Govt will impact on that.

I think in years to come we will look at this instance of the Labour party as one that strayed so far from the principles that the party was founded upon that we will look at it as the end of a cycle for the party

Weird little snipit of Christine Legarde at the end.
Is it to show ‘a new non confrontational relationship between Labour and the IMF'(Its not Labour vs Frankfurt anymore sort of thing), to show ‘Joan Burton speaks at the highest level’ or what?

Decent messaging but its a pity they cant indicate the same with the Eurogroup and Ireland’s short lived ‘special case status’

And does Joanie think that Papa Burton with ‘the little bit extra of work he was getting’ was completely tax compliant? Jebus if someone nowadays worked a bit on the side to make ends meet the Revenue would chase them to the ends of the earth for their cut.

Labour will be close to their historic level of 12% after this election. We blame them for much of what this government has done but they were a minor party.

For those of us in the left (and there a few on BS) we have to ask the question how will our voice be heard around the cabinet table when decisions are made?

I disagree with a lot of what Labour have done but the FG manifesto in 2011 was frightening for anyone who believes in an economically progressive country.

I’m unwilling to give FG and other right wing parties free rein to set the progressive left back 20 years.

      Please stop.

There is no right or left wing in irish mainstream parties anymore. When you have Fine Gael voting through increases in minimum wage (which is still too low) and labour voting through troika policy slapping terms on parties is meaningless.

They are just sloshing around the middle trying to appease as many of the swing voters as possible. They are all pro business, pro workers , pro public services etc etc

that’s standing up for worker’s slogan is sickening, they spent the last few years in power doing the exact opposite.

They’ll be ‘standing up ‘ for whatever they like if I can get near enough to them to administer a good kick in the hole.
