I genuinely miss the old milk bottles. And I believe they made more financial sense than the Tetrapak. Less waste anyway. I don’t know how we ended up moving onto a system that created MORE waste. Only problem was sparrows pecking off the lids and drinking the cream off the top.

I don’t think the outlay, return and wash made financial sense for the creameries. It certainly doesn’t work as well when most milk is sold by grocers rather than delivered by milkmen. It’s probably more environmentally friendly, though.
